Crossroads Christmas

Page 1

2020 2020 was a special year. It was a year in which we as a community couldn’t get together much. A year in which almost all our usual meetings and gatherings became impossible and it was not easy to maintain our sense of community. Now that we do not meet each other at Christmas, that is even more noticeable. We would therefore like to give you a nice gift. We have put together a package that contains a very varied package of things. Have a look, we hope you will enjoy it. Now and for parts even throughout the following year. On behalf of staff & elder board,

Miriam Phillips

ZOOM SERVICE ON CHRISTMAS EVE You are warmly invited to join us on Thursday December 24th at 5pm for our Christmas Eve Service. We invite you to dress in something Christmassy and let’s sing some Christmas carols with our worship band. We will reflect on Jesus’ birth and hear a Hope-filled message about centering our lives around the coming Messiah entering our world and what that STILL means to us today.

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE We offer this Christmas message of Hope from Szaszi Bene, one of the members of our preaching team. We hope it brings you unshakable Hope and deep encouragement in this Christmas season, as we turn our eyes towards Jesus, our Emmanuel - God WITH us. WATCH

CHRISTMAS WORSHIP Singing is an important aspect of our worship to God and a part of our usual live services. We are grateful for all the worship expressions we’ve been able to enjoy digitally, but we especially miss live singing at Christmas time. So while we still aren't able to gather in person and sing please join us in singing these from the comfort of your own homes.

CHRISTMAS AT CROSSROADS

At Christmas time we celebrate the moment God chose to enter our world and dwell among us. What a gift that we can enjoy such intimacy with Him and share the love He came to give. Please enjoy these video clips that are meant to bring you a message of Hope, songs that focus our eyes on Jesus and a heartfelt invitation to our Christmas Eve Zoom service.

In a time of less (live) gatherings and opportunities to collectively study God’s Word or dig through specific topics and see how they relate to our lives today, we thought we’d put together some tools and resources that might help build and strengthen our faith. We hope you will find these resources helpful, either individually or in whatever small circle you’re comfortable with.

20 STORIES FROM 2020

This year many people have faced much uncertainty in different areas of life, social isolation and emotional discouragement; but 2020 also contains stories of God’s great faithfulness, provision and blessings. One of our favorite elements in the Sunday morning Zoom meetings have been hearing people’s testimonies and how they’re experiencing life and God at work both in, and through them. Here you will find 20 interviews of both current and some alumni Crossroaders to encourage you and give us all a sense of togetherness with the extended family of God across the globe.

In a time of less (live) youth gatherings and opportunities to meet up outside of Friday evenings, we wanted to put together some fun resources to help teens continue the faith conversations and to encourage our younger believers to keep taking Spiritual steps with or towards God as they grow in owning their faith.
