“It’s going to take a sustained effort to get people to stop placing illegal signs. We have to be vigilant.”
Qualifying starts Watershed Job Fair features 25 employers Monday for House 92 seat By Jennifer Ffrench Parker
The special election to fill the House District 92 seat vacated by Tonya Anderson also will take place Nov. 3. Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp said qualifying will take place Sept. 28-30. Candidates seeking the seat can qualify on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Elections Division of the Office of Secretary of State, 802 West Tower, 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive S.E. in Atlanta. The qualifying fee is $400. House District 92 covers portions of DeKalb and Rockdale counties. Anderson resigned Sept. 14 to seek the Senate District 43 seat vacated by Ronald Ramsey, who was appointed an associate judge of DeKalb State Court. The special election is nonpartisan, but candidates are required to state their party affiliation, which will be listed on the ballot. The runoff election, if needed, will take place on Dec. 1. To vote in the Nov. 3 municipal and special elections, citizens must be registered before 5 p.m. on Oct. 5. Voter registration forms are available at the DeKalb Elections Office or from www.sos. ga.gov/elections. Citizens with a valid Georgia driver’s license can register to vote at registertovote.sos.ga.gov or by using the “GA Votes” app on a mobile device. Absentee ballots are available at www.sos.ga.gov/ elections and must be returned to the county registrar’s office by the close of polls on Election Day. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

It is free and open to the public. Most of the featured employers are associated with the $180 million Phase 2 construction of the Snapfinger Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility expansion, which is the largest project ever implemented by DeKalb County. CIP Program Director Kenneth Saunders Jr. said Phase 2 “presents the perfect opportunity for us to provide our residents

thrilled with the effort. “My friends and I watch for the stretch of Rockbridge Road between Memorial Drive and Hairston. A lot of times I stop, pull over and toss the signs in my trunk,” Arrington said.
