A Summer of Fun in Barnsley Stuck for something to do? There’s no need to be this summer in Barnsley! We have plenty of fabulous events and attractions that will keep you entertained, you’ll be sure to find something to suit your taste. If the great outdoors is what gets you going then Barnsley is blessed with some of the finest natural landscapes in the whole of the UK. The Peak District and the Pennines both bring glorious views and wild, secluded places where you can turn your face to the wind and gulp lungs-full of clean, fresh air. So if you like to get on your bike or lace up your boots there’s plenty to go at. Why not plan in some “pit stops” on the way for refuelling and head to one of the boroughs many country pubs for traditional home cooking and a well earned refreshing drink.

RSPB Old Moor - a fantastic place to watch wildlife, have fun and learn more about the natural world. Follow the trails around the reserve and discover what's on offer. Worsbrough Country Park - the 60 acre reservoir is now a haven for wildlife. Wentworth Castle Gardens - the only Grade One-listed parkland and garden in South Yorkshire.

If a gentle stroll is more your thing, then there’s lots of attractions to choose from. How about a walk in the park? A Country House Museum in a beautiful parkland setting, Cannon Hall provides a great day out for all the family. Make the most of the fantastic produce available locally – check out Barnsley Market or one of the many local farm shops and put together a great picnic to take with you.
