From light bites to á la carte or for those just wanting to soak up the atmosphere with a drink, Barnbrook’s Bar and Grill can cater for your every need. arnbrook’s Bar and Grill offers high quality, traditional food in a warm and welcoming setting. Run by husband and wife team, Scott and Sharon Barnbrook, the friendly venue has become a firm favourite among local diners since it first opened its doors in November 2010. Fresh, locally sourced produce is of utmost importance to Scott and his kitchen team, including head chef Mark Armitage, who aims to offer a selection of seasonal specials and classic British dishes. All dishes are freshly prepared on site daily, with diners given the choice of á la carte, light bite and daily special menus. The á la carte menu offers a delicious selection of starters such as creamy garlic mushrooms and bacon gratin, prawn cocktail, soup of the day, salmon goujons and chicken liver paté, all homemade. Main dishes include pub classics such as haddock, chips and mushy peas, pie of the day, lasagne and bangers and mash, plus vegetarian and fish dishes including Barnbrook’s award-winning sea bass. All dishes are served with freshly prepared seasonal vegetables or homemade chips. Options from the grill vary from rump to ribeye steak with a selection of sides and sauces including mushroom and Madeira, peppercorn and Diane.


Desserts are equally tempting with offerings such as brownies, Baileys torte and jam/treacle sponges. All offered with cream, ice cream or custard. To make the most of the fresh local produce available, Barnbrook’s also has a daily specials board which provides more adventurous options such as lamb cutlets served on rosemary mash potato and a sweet redcurrant jus, sirloin steak topped with battered Cajun king prawns, and pan seared venison loin served with sautéed wild mushrooms and new potatoes, finished with a redcurrant jus. On weekdays, between noon and 5.45pm, there is a choice of two special daily dishes for £4.99 which change daily, while on Sundays diners can enjoy a traditional roast with a choice of meat and all the trimmings for £6.95 or choose from the á la carte menu. As a family-friendly venue, Barnbrook’s has a special menu for children, including favourites such as pasta bolognese, chicken nuggets and more, all of which are homemade. For those just wanting to call in for a drink and soak up the atmosphere, there is a selection of wines, spirits, lagers, beers and real ales. On Friday nights customers are treated to live entertainment from local artists including singer Kevin Kitchen, musical duo Tom and Laura, guitarist and singer James Worton

and Barnbrook’s Elvis experience. In addition to its attractive bar and restaurant area, Barnbrook’s also boasts a private function room which can cater for up to 50 seated guests. Ideal for special occasions, the room lends itself to birthday parties, wedding and christening celebrations and funerals. A special menu can be created to cater for individual tastes and budgets, with a choice of both buffet and á la carte menus. Due to its large beer garden, Barnbrook’s can also provide a specially dressed marquee for celebrations, by prior arrangement.
