It’s all a matter of great teamwork for Tia Photograph for illustration purposes only.
Bringing out the dragons for charity We have been supporting Martin House Children’s hospice since the ASOS site in Barnsley opened around three years ago. The next fundraising event we will be participating in will see our colleagues racing to the finish line, in a bid to be crowned number one in the Martin House dragon boat
race competition. As well as this, we will be taking part in the tug of war competition at Roundhay Park in Leeds, on Sunday 18th May. Each participating ASOS/Norbert Dentressangle team member will be helping to raise money for Martin House.
Benefiting from workplace banking scheme
We have been working with Barclays Bank for some time and together have designed a visitation schedule that suits our business and our colleagues. The service offers the chance to discuss financial issues with Alison Simpson, our workplace banking advisor, and see her as a familiar face, in the day-to-day work environment. Having Alison on site makes it easy to find out ways to boost savings, apply for a home
loan, or look for ways to save money. Our colleagues sometimes work unsocial hours and it can be hard to get things like banking done. Having this scheme in place ensures access to these services, offering sound and professional advice, enabling informed and effective decisions, about using and managing money, to be made. Here at Norbert Dentressangle we are always looking to improve our colleague’s engagement, embracing Barclay’s workplace banking scheme as a valuable benefit that can have a positive impact on financial wellbeing.
This is Tia Airey, our HR Engagement Co-ordinator at the ASOS/Norbert Dentressangle site in Barnsley. She has been working at the site for two years, starting out with the returns faulty team, when the opportunity for progression came up within the HR team. Her application was successful and she has been the site’s engagement co-ordinator for six months now. Tia’s new role involves improving site engagement, securing discounts for her colleagues and planning social events for them to participate in, on and off site. With help from local charities, she organised a fair at Christmas, our site raising over £700 for Martin House children’s hospice. She has also arranged health and wellbeing days on site and, to keep her colleagues fighting fit, has secured discounts with gyms in the local area. For ‘Sport Relief’, Tia helped the site raise over £1,154 with aid from the workplace banking team at Barclays. She is currently working on the team building cycle challenge event, from Barnsley to York Minster, which will take place on the Thursday 15th May. She really enjoys her job, as every day brings new and exciting challenges. In her spare time she is a devoted animal lover and regularly helps the Royston Animal Welfare team by volunteering at the animal rescue centre, walking dogs and helping out with photos for the website, to help rehome some of Barnsley’s less fortunate animals.
If you would like a job with the opportunity for progression, check out our vacancies online at www.norbert-dentressangle.co.uk
Part time opportunities for all We are looking for individuals who want to work part time hours over the next three months, possibly leading to permanent. This is a great opportunity for working mums and dads with childcare responsibilities, students or anyone who would like to work part time in the local area and wants to join the team. The shifts we have to offer are Tuesday to Saturday, 5pm-9pm or Tuesday to
Friday, 9am-1pm. If you’re interested in applying for these roles please log on to our portal at www.norbertdentressangle/careers We can be flexible on the morning shift if this clashes with the school run, so please contact us even if you can’t do the exact hours above. Interested? Get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
The Big Tidy Up On Friday 25th April we held a Big Tidy Up event at the ASOS site in Barnsley, working in conjunction with Barnsley Council and The Probation Service. A team of our colleagues volunteered an hour of their time to help tidy up the site, collecting over 15 bags of rubbish from the car park and surrounding areas. It was a good way to meet new colleagues and a great team building experience, with people from different departments taking part. We are proud of our site and believe that taking part in a tidy up event can be a powerful and uplifting experience, helping to enhance job satisfaction and motivation.
