Sensitively restored Grade II listed farmhouse & barns Sensitively restored Grade II listed

Every element of the historical Grade II listed farmhouse & barns was given careful and barn farmhouse buildings restoration consideration, sensitively retaining and restoring the original character. A close collaboration between the client, the archaeological specialist, the planners and our team enabled us the deliver a design that retains as much of the working aesthetic of the buildings as possible. We have incorporated new architecture with a sense of the old history of the existing buildings. This allows the current work to be interpreted as an additional thread to the historical context of the buildings, without affecting their character.

Croft Architecture

The former farmhouse has been sympathetically transformed inside and out. We’ve created a new home that retains the historical core, ethos and detail of the building, whilst injecting a contemporary twist for the family.

Extension to a Victorian home with a new family annex Sensitively restored Grade II listed farmhouse barns The layout and shape of&our clients ground floor living accommodation didn’t provide the functional space for everyday family life. The development of the design for the home extension and annex emulates the style and character of the existing property, with particular features being given a contemporary twist. Careful design consideration has been given to ensure that the newly extended family living space and annex correspond well with not only, the adjoining property, but also the neighbouring period homes within the local area.

Croft Architecture

We worked closely with the clients to carefully remodel and landscape the external space to ensure that their home works for the family and successfully enhances the visual appearance of their property.

New self-build family home in Staffordshire Sensitively restored Grade II listed Our clientsfarmhouse were a family & of four whose aspirations were barns to increase the size of their property to create a modern family home of appropriate size. The house was originally built by the client’s family in 1939 and it was a family wish that the front elevation of the property had to retain its character. The resulting development balanced the modern proposals for the extensions and refurbishment with the traditional rural design of the existing property.

Croft Architecture

Our client says, "Choosing the right architect is always important, particularly so when you are creating a once in a lifetime building. Croft Architecture proved they had the technical knowledge, vision, expertise and patience to ensure our ambitious family home became a reality."

A contemporary extension creates dynamic family livingSensitively space restored Grade II listed farmhouse & barns Our clients are a family of four living in a four bedroom substantially sized detached home. Although their property has adequate bedroom space for them and their two children, the layout of the downstairs living space was not functional and it obstructed their everyday life, making entertaining and family gatherings difficult. They aspired to maximise the potential of their property to develop much needed quality family space and turn their non functional house into their forever family home.

Croft Architecture

The new generous family living space to the rear of the property bears no visual impact on the streetscape, yet the design responds to the living patterns of the family providing them with the tailored forever home they dreamed of.
