To my family & friends, and all the people who let me capture such great moments. To them my sincere gratefulness. With LOVE, Cristiana!
INTRO In this catalog there’s a demonstration of the work as a photographer by Cristiana Sousa, also known as I Aint No Artist. The photos represent the world of a nineteen year old girl who likes music, gigs and all that comes with it. The good and the bad of this underground way of live are shown through the lens of a Canon 400D and an analogic camera, Coloursplash, properly identified in the catalog. The main focus were, especially on live concerts , garage, promotional and portraits shots, contrasting with beautiful and silent landscapes, making this portfolio dynamic and versatile. While browsing you can also see that the pictures are adorned with text that gives you to know more about portuguese music, people and places. In the end if you liked what you see, go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/i-aint-no-artist/ for new updates.

The band started in late 2005, and its first gig was in the Summer of 2006. They have always shown that they have an unique style, which combines ambient, stoner, groovy riffs and explosive moments! It’s in the Summer of 2009 that they realease their first EP “Sunset Duel” which shows the band’s maturity and was recorded by Marco Cipriano from Quickpunch. The voice and lyrics in the EP is by the former vocalist (André “Padawan” Trindade). With this release, the band gets back to the stages to wow the public with their energy and determination, that was previously shown in small gigs for the friends/fans but also when they played with Cancer Bats and Eternal Tango.

MOE’S IMPLOSION Was born in the year of 2005, in the city of Montijo. In 2006 the first EP came out. “Morning Wood” captured the ear of many people, making them recognized all over the country.
Born from the ashes of Party On Feet, immediatly after their end, around November of 2007, Porn Sheep Hospital (name of a bar in Moscow) are a group with influences of mathcore and post-rock shaped with progressive rock structures. Their members, Francisco Caetano or Chico (vocals/guitar), Gonรงalo Duarte (guitar), Tiago Martins (bass) and Rui Penim (drums), with ages between 19 and 21, are looking forward to elevate their music to an higher level in nacional history. To that efect they are counting on their passed experience on stage, musical development and support from fans. MATHCORE Mathcore is a rhythmically complex and dissonant style of metalcore. It has its roots in bands like Converge, Botch, and the Dillinger Escape Plan. The term mathcore is suggested by analogy with math rock. Both math rock and mathcore make use of unusual time signatures. Math rock groups such as Slint, Don Caballero, Shellac, and Drive Like Jehu have some influence on mathcore, though mathcore is more closely related to metalcore. Prominent mathcore groups have been associated with grindcore
Porn Sheep Hospital @ Time Out Bar
Much like math rock, mathcore incorporates heavy usage of unusual time signatures, jarring tempo changes and unconventional song structure. The influence of metal and metalcore is what sets it apart from math rock. Influenced by progressive metal and progressive rock bands. In general terms it is more a simple combination of the two genres. Mathcore is generic to bands who are heavily hardcore influenced also moving towards playing technical grindcore, with various experimental influences. Some examples of progressive metalcore bands would be The Human Abstract, Protest the Hero, SikTh, Shai Hulud, and Misery Signals.
MOSH First, let me state that by writing this, I am not trying to cause controversy in any way. I’m just stating the opinion of myself and of other females. Not all females feel the same way I do. I am not saying I speak for all women. I am speaking for the females that have expressed the same feelings as me on this subject matter.
Now with that said, knowing that no matter what, it will cause some kind of argument let me start to get to the point. Guys. Let me break it to you. The pit is not your exclusive territory. It never fully was. You may think that in the beginning, it only belonged to you. But you are wrong. I love hardcore music, just as much, if not more, than you do. My whole life has revolved around music. Rock, grunge, and usually anything that would be considered “underground.” Ill never fully know how I got into it, being born to a literal disco queen, but that’s another story for another time.
Two concussions. Countless amounts of bruises. And a broken nose. Almost broke my jaw, rib, and cracked a tooth. That is the kind of injuries I have sustained in the pit. I get right back up and dance. Do I whine and cry and send my guy friends after you for hitting me? Hell no. I know that those are the kind of risks I put myself into when, me being tall and skinny, goes into a pit with ten guys twice my size.
Sorry. I would rather put myself in a position of knowingly getting hurt then getting kicked in the head or have a random body fall on top of me: crowd surfers. I would like to see when I’m going to get punched then have it come up behind me out of no where. Why do I go in the pit? Not only is it an amazing way to relive stress and excess energy, but if I am dancing, it means I really like the band that’s playing. No, I don’t not dance at every show. I don’t dance for every band. And you may not agree with this, but if I am dancing for you, it means to me, that I am giving you the utmost respect at a show possible, other than singing along. And to those bands that preach that a pit is no place for a woman, I’m sorry, but did we just go back to the 1920’s? I’m pretty sure we are supposed to have the same rights. And I hate to break it to you, but I know quite a few girls personally, that could know your teeth down your throat. And for those of you whom think your going to “teach us a lesson” by going after any girl in or near the pit for no merit, get a life. You just proved that you are a caveman. Written by Nora Merlino

Men Eater @ Capricho Setubalence
M EA Men Eater came together as a band in the back seat of a van. By bouncing ideas, all of a sudden, it struck them as a bolt of lightning why the fuck don’t we start a project together? It took shape in a day and became a reality on the next. Without any plans on how to conquer the world or similar, they just shared love for good music and enough inspiration to start writing the first songs

faces A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. For this reason, in photography a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of a person in a still position. A portrait often shows a person looking directly at the painter or photographer, in order to most successfully engage the subject with the viewer.

MAKE IT EASY ON YOURSELF
Eat before you go out, or early in the evening, to reduce the effects of your drinking. Remember, it’s not about saving up your units for the week and cramming them all into one evening. Drink water regularly during the evening and before you go to bed. Take a break if you think the drink is hitting you too quickly. Pace yourself with soft drinks - a tonic looks the same with or without vodka . Don’t try to keep up with friends who drink more than you - that’s their choice. Don’t mix alcohol with drugs of any kind, but especially ecstasy or cocaine: it can be deadly. If you’re on medication, ask your doctor if it’s safe to drink After a session of heavy drinking take a break for 48 hours to let your body recover.
If you regularly get early morning shakes after you have been drinking you could have physical withdrawal symptoms (including sweating or feeling anxious until you have had the first drink of the day) You should get proper medical advice before stopping completely as it can be dangerous to do this too quickly without proper advice and support. You have a health problem, like liver or heart disease. You commonly have memory blackouts, so you can’t remember things that happened when you have been drinking. If any of these apply to you, you should seek professional help for drinking, speak to a GP or nurse, or see the “where to get help” tab above. You should also stop drinking completely if: You are pregnant.

girl,you shouldnt drink
If you’re getting ready for a big night, we’ve put together some tips worth remembering before you start a drinking session. They could stop you getting a nasty hangover - or even save your life.
3 Gs @ Setúbal
Don’t mix alcohol with any kind of medication as it can reduce the drug’s effects and be harmful. At home it can be much more difficult to keep track on how much you are drinking than when you are out. There are no measures and poured drinks are probably more generous than in bars or pubs.
When you’re drinking at home you can get a false sense of security. You still need to think about your units - and consider the following: Don’t mix alcohol with recreational drugs, especially stimulants (such as ecstasy or cocaine). If you are drinking wine, try using a smaller glass: a small glass of wine (ABV 12%) is about 1.5 units but a large glass of stronger wine can contain 3 units or more; Don’t feel you should “finish the bottle off”, put a cork in it and keep it for another day. It may be best not to drink if you have mental health problems like anxiety or depression - it could make these worse
SETUBAL IS WHERE IT HAPPENS The seat of the municipality is the city of Setúbal, located on the northern bank of the Sado river estuary, approximately 40 km south of Portugal’s capital, Lisbon. It is also the seat of the district of Setúbal. In the beginning of the 20th century, Setúbal was an important center of Portugal’s fishing industry, particularly sardines. However, none of the many factories then created are operating today. Although its industrial life is in decline, tourism is perceived as a big opportunity for the future since the nearby coast of the Arrábida natural park offers beautiful beaches and unspoilt nature. A dolphin colony inhabits the Sado River. Across the river on the south bank lies the peninsula of Tróia, where several high-rise luxury resorts were built and abandoned after the realization they were being constructed on sinking, unstable land. 31

Portraits done in black and white add an additional layer of complexity to their subject. The choice to appear void of color says something about the person, though what it says varies greatly between people. Below are 100 stunning black and white portraits to give you inspiration in your designs. The range of subjects and what their portraits say about them run across the entire spectrum of the human experience, and you’re sure to find something that resonates.

Once the wedding present of a queen, the preserved medieval town of Óbidos lying 100 km north of Lisbon is without doubt one of Portugal’s most classic walled settlements. Walking the ramparts, visitors can enjoy views of windmills, vineyards and surrounding farmlands. In the residential area below, narrow cobblestone streets are lined with whitewashed houses sporting terracotta roofs. The shops are piled high with local handicrafts, while in spring the town is ablaze with geraniums, morning glories and bougainvillaea.
