Part 1

Part 1 Saturday 7th – Sunday 29th June 2014

In June we launch “Summer Medley – Part 1”, a five-artist show featuring a number of Gallery favourites, alongside, for the first time exhibiting with us, the Scottish landscape artist, Dronma. Mary Davidson always provides a beautiful selection of floral still life pieces and this show is no exception. Alison Dunlop’s latest collection is not only wonderful in its execution, but also fascinating in its conception. Nael Hanna’s sea and landscapes are as masterful as ever with what is becoming a trademark feature, namely his rich impasto and layering of oil paint that builds great texture to his work. And Alan Reed has produced some beautiful watercolours of Edinburgh alongside others of places abroad recently visited. Dronma’s “colourism” approach shows the Scottish highland light at its best and her chosen subjects are highly evocative – we are delighted she accepted our invitation to join this exhibition. All in all, this is a strong exhibition both technically and in terms of variety. We hope you approve, and will take time to call in to view the show in person. Gail and Roy McGregor
