WELCOME

The thing that I love most about weddings is the celebration of two individuals who are coming together. Every couple is different, which means every wedding is different. And I love infusing what makes each of us unique into wedding stationery.

Planning a wedding that encompasses what makes you and your partner unique can be a challenge. I'm here to ease that process and take the stress out of creating custom stationery for your big day. Based in the Washington, DC metro area, I've been designing custom stationery for close to ten years. My passion for elaborate parties led me to the stationery world where I am able to create unique and one-of-akind stationery. Whether you're into music or love travel, I've designed stationery that showcases what brings couples together and makes them stand apart. This planning guide serves as your reference for all things stationery related for your big day. I'll let you know what you need (and what you can skip) as well as the different

technqiues and elements that can turn your stationery into a keepsake. When I'm not designing stationery, I'm travelling the world with my husband (who is my high school sweetheart) and enjoying getting to know our new baby boy. When we're not travel-bound, you can find us cozying up with our cats catching up on the latest episode of Chopped. Want to get to know me more? Follow me on Instagram as I showcase my newest designs and obsess over my love of coffee and Harry Potter. Check me out on Facebook and Pinterest as well! My goal as a designer is to make the stationery part of the planning process simple and stress free. When you're ready, let's chat with a complimentary stationery consultation.

So you and your partner have decided it's time to get married and now you're officially engaged. CONGRATULATIONS!

can think up a design to match your love of comics. Here is where your guests will get introduced to your wedding style.

Thinking about your wedding stationery can be overwhelming. But that's where having an experienced stationery designer comes in. I'll help you sort through all those paper details that you're probably swimming in right now.

Save-the-dates are certainly the most frequently used pre-wedding stationery but here are some other items to consider:

When it comes to stationery, most couples jump straight to the invitation. But there's some pre-wedding stationery to think about first. The most important piece of pre-wedding stationery is your save-the-date. If you've already taken engagement pictures, this is a great way to show off you and your partner and let your guests know to expect a formal invitation soon. While photo save-the-dates are popular, you don't have to go the conventional route. Together we can design a bookmark if you and your sweetie love a good book or we

- Ask your friends to stand by your side with personalized "Be My Bridesmaid/ Groomsman" cards; - Invite your family and friends to celebrate your engagement with custom enagement party invitations; - Get custom designed invites for your bridal shower or that over the top bachelor/ bachelorette soriee your planning; - Invite your wedding party to the rehearsal dinner so you can thank them for being apart of your big day. When you work with a stationery designer like me, your pre-wedding stationery will truly capture what you have planned for the big day and will begin the process of creating a cohesive design throughout your entire stationery.

WEDDING STATIONERY Your wedding stationery (aka invitation) is the main event when it comes to the paper goods needed for your big day. Here is where your guests will truly get a first look at what kind of event they can expect to attend. It's also where you can really show off what I call your "couple style" - what makes you and your partner that special couple and uniquely you. But there are probably a lot of questions you have when it comes to actually figuring out what you need. As your stationery designer, this is where I come in! I'll let you know what works best for your big day. Here are the three staples of a traditional invitation suite: - The Invitation: Here's where you actually invite your guests to the main event. It should include your names, wedding wedding date and location, and

typically includes wording that indicates who is hosting. - Response Card (or RSVP card): You'll want your RSVP date to be about two weeks before the big day so you have enough time to follow up with guests who may not have replied. Our response cards come with your return address pre-printed on the response envelope as well a stamp. - Enclosure Card(s): You may need one or more depending on how much information you want to relay to your guests. These traditionally include accommodations information, directions, wedding weekend activities, etc. We'll work together to present all this information to your guests in the best way possible while also keeping your wedding style front and center.

INVITATION STYLES SINGLE MOUNT INVITATION CARD

GATE CARD WITH POCKET

GATE CARD WITH LASER CUT DESIGN

The Single Mount Invitation Card contains the invitation mounted on a colored backing. The response and enclosure cards would lay on top when mailing or the set can be held together with ribbon or a belly band.

The Gate Card with Pocket is a great way to keep your response and enclosure cards together and allows for a beautiful display when opened. The invitation itself can be mounted on a colored backing similar to the single mount invitation card.

The Gate Card with Laser Cut Design is similar to the gate card and is available with or without a pocket. It features a beautifully intricate laser cut design that can be a show-stopper when opened by guests.

GATE CARD WITHOUT POCKET

POCKET CARD INVITATION

SQUARE INVITATION

The Gate Card Without Pocket opens up beautifully but doesn't have the pocket for your response and enclosure cards. Those sit on top of the invitatoin like the single mount invitation card.

The Pocket Card Invitation looks like a single mount invitation card in the front but has a handy pocket in the back for your response and enclosure cards. It's a great alternative to either design.

Any style can be made into a Square Invitation. Why is this a separate category? Well, they are certainly a different syle but most importantly, they almost certainly will cost more in postage due to their shape.

THE NON-TRADITIONAL INVITATION For those who want to get creative, the Non-Traditional Invitation is perfect (and my absolute favorite to design). Here is where we can take your love of music, Harry Potter, or Broadway and transform it into a beautifully designed invitation that 's uniquely you.

PRINTING TECHNQIUES When it comes to the way your invitations look and feel, the way it's printed can make all the difference. There are several different ways of printing that can completely transform a simple invite to something that wows. Here is what we offer:

without the costs of custom made plates but does have design limitations.

- Digital Printing: The most cost effective form of printing and is similar to what is achieved with a standard printer. We work with amazing printing companies that ensure you'll get the same colors and output with every print.

- Letterpress: One of the most timeless and classic printing techniques, letterpress is a relief printing method using a printing press. Custom dies are positioned into the bed of the press and inked, then paper is pressed against it to transfer the ink, creating an elegant, tactile effect. This technique works best on heavier paper and is perfect for highlighting fin details in designs.

- White Ink Printing: We love designing bold invitations and white ink printing is the perfect way to achieve that look. This technique works best on darker colored paper.

- Blind Emboss/Blind Deboss: Embossing/ Debossing alters the surface of the paper by providing a three-dimensional raised or recessed effect on selected areas. There are design imitations with this technique.

- Digital Metallic Gold/Silver Printing: A cost-effective method of achieving the foil stamp look (shimmery) without the costs of custom made plates but does have design limitations.

- Foil Stamp: Another classic printing technique, foil stamping is the application of pigment or metallic foil, often gold, silver or white, to paper where a heated die is stamped onto the foil, making it adhere to the surface leaving the design of the die on the paper. This technqiue remains popular for weddings since it can elevate the formality of a design.

- Thermography: This print process relies on heat to create raised ink, resulting in an elegant, tactile effect. It can be a costeffective way of achieving a letterpress look

INVITATION ADD-ONS Whether you have a simple or elaborate invitation design, there are relatively simple ways to really wow your guests from the moment they get your invitation in the mail. Any of these technqiues can up the ante on your invitation. Here's what we offer: - Address Printing: You have a guests list that is probably bigger than you want it to be and are dreading hand-writing all those addresses. Don't stress, I can print your guests addresses directly onto your invitation envelopes in type that will match your invitation design. We also offer retun address printing on the back flap of the envelope as well. - Custom Stamps: I love when a design flows through even the smallest detail. I can create custom postage stamps that match your invitation design for both your response card and invitation envelopes.

- Calligraphy: While I'm not a calligrapher myself, I work do work with some amazing ones who can provide calligraphy services for guest addressing as an alternative to printing. - Envelope Liners: Nothing will wow you and your guests more than the unexpected surprise of a gorgeous envelope liner that perfectly matches your custom design. Liners are a great way to add a little flair to an invitation suite. - Belly Bands: Whatever your design, belly bands can help to hold everything together or just add another design flair. - Wax Seals: There is a timeless elegance that comes with a wax seal. Custom wax seals are a great way to turn any design into a treasured keepsake.
