Animal Studies

Animal Management Level 3 Extended Subsidiary Diploma Course Length: 2 years

Entry Requirements

These courses are a mixture of hands-on, practical experience and theoretical study, based in our modern, well equipped classrooms with IT facilities. They are designed to provide a range of opportunities in animal care and management skills within a diverse animal care industry. You will study with highly qualified tutors in our purpose built indoor and outdoor Animal Care Units caring for a wide range of mammals, reptiles and birds so that you have real experience of their needs. Regular visits to zoos and a range of animal care providers and venues alongside inputs from guest speakers are an integral part of the courses.

Units of study may include Animal Accommodation, Anatomy, Behaviour & Communication, Biology, Breeding & Genetics, Feeding, Handling, Health, Nursing, Nutrition, Physiology, Management, Dog Grooming, Estate Skills, Exotic Animal Health & Husbandry, Farm Livestock Husbandry, Investigative Project, Kennel & Cattery Management, Pet Store Design, Safe Working Practices, Welfare & Breed Development, Work Related Experience in the Land Based Sector

−− 4 GCSEs A*-C including English and Maths or Science or Level 2 Diploma Merit or Distinction
