Project Summary

Development of EHS Registers of Legislation for Certification to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 in 70 Jurisdictions International Professional Services Company

Key Project Elements  ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001  Legislation In 70 Jurisdictions  Global Network of Specialist Consultants  Explaining Implications of EH&S Legislation  Maintenance of Registers  Integrated Management System

CRA is supporting an international professional services organisation with implementing an integrated management system for environment and health & safety (EHS). The company operates currently in over 70 countries across the globe, and is seeking certification to both ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 on a corporate basis. Consequently, it must demonstrate that it not only has access to all relevant legislation in those countries, but also appreciates the implications of the legislation, and has taken the steps needed to ensure that they are compliant. It is essential to identify and interpret all applicable legislation relevant to the client’s activities. Each register has to provide clear explanations of the demands from legal requirements so that local and/or remotely placed corporate governance staff can carry out a compliance review. CRA is using the technical expertise of its own staff, together with the local knowledge of a network of associates in many of the jurisdictions. A key element of the project is quality management, ensuring that all contributors have provided a full and comprehensive coverage of legal requirements and have explained the summary implications in a clear and consistent manner. CRA and its associates will provide ongoing maintenance of the legal registers, to ensure that they continue to provide information on all applicable EHS legislation.
