CRA provides close environmental management support to a leading UK company in the oil and gas sector, working as part of the corporate EHS team. Tasks include preparing for and participating as auditees in external certification audits, development of management systems procedures, corporate auditing and training. In addition, CRA has worked closely with both the EHS team and external affairs department in the collection and validation of KPI data for inclusion in the annual Corporate Report. CRA’s role has been broad, including redesigning the data collection workbooks, training staff globally in their use, preparing a data validation process for use by the reporting entities, carrying out verification audits of data from the businesses and functional departments, collating and interpreting the data, and being audited by the external verifier. CRA is helping our client in the review of its reporting strategy, including undertaking a review of stakeholder expectations and competitor practice. This involves reviewing sector and other stakeholder expectations, including the practices promoted by the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers, IPIECA, the International Finance Corporation and regulators. In addition, CRA is reviewing the degree of compliance of competitor reports with the different levels of reporting advocated by the Global Reporting Initiative. These findings will be used to guide the organisation in the development of its future strategy for corporate reporting.
