20th Anniversary FUN DAY The fun day on Victoria Dock is an annual event organised by the village hall community association. It is a great day for kids and families and helps to promote a little community spirit in the local area. There will be a variety of children's rides, entertainment throughout the day, with food & refreshments available from stalls in the park.

This years event is taking place on Saturday 21st June 2014 12:00 – 17:00hrs and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the event wristbands will be free this year only! Your child will still need a wrist band from the hall but they are free. They will not be allowed on anything without. Please don’t bring your own drinks and food as our sales helps raise funds for the day.

The next meeting will be on

Monday 9th June 2014 at 6.30pm in the Village Hall All Residents of Victoria Dock are welcome

Parking on the Dock

Have now had 2 exhibitions on the Marina and plan a third on 22nd June as part of a Beer Festival and 4 day Power Boats racing session. Register your interest at to find details or call 0776 800 8382.

Again three separate families complained about this endless problem. It’s just a few dog owners spoiling it for us all. In future we will only put actual letters of complaint, but will withhold names etc. We will never put anything anonymous in.

Many people have asked me to mention again about cars and vans that park on or protrude into the footpaths. This make life difficult for disabled chair users and mum’s with prams and buggies.

Wind Turbine Parts

These are not as large as the parts that will made at Paull when the manufacturing base is developed. Those are to be shipped out down the estuary. The company transporting these has permission to do so since they only qualify as abnormal loads and as such can use the roads. It looks as though this traffic roundabout will need some modification though. There blades went out as a convoy, caused some traffic delay as they went, but it went better than last time.

Traffic Regulation Order As yet there is no result from the council team sorting out the Traffic Regulation Order which many of you will have seem as proposals in the Village Hall. The proposal is now being modified to reflect your views and will be re issued in due course. This was to mark areas where parking would be restricted such as ends of cul-de-sacs. On the same subject our area team tell me that sections of South Bridge Road near the school are to be re surfaced. It has been patched for the time being but will be done late in June.

Neptune River Turbine ABP have confirmed that Neptune is due to go shortly, as you probably know it is not in use and has not worked. This was to power the DEEP. What we need to watch for is that mark 2 does not appear. As you know we are not generally a community that has a N.I.M.B.Y attitude but experience is a good teacher.

Reading Group Victoria Dock Book/Reading Group. Open to men and women who enjoy reading and want to share that enjoyment with others, like minded. Group will be informal and be held 7.30pm on 1st Thursday of each month in Village Hall. Cost £1 per session. Contact Rose 07983235823 for further information or if interested.

ABP We are happy to sponsor your family fun day again and as it's your 20th year we will donate £2,000.00. For your information we are holding an open day here in the port on the same day to celebrate the centenary of King George Dock. Further info and tickets available now at We wish you all the best with the fun day. The Printing of the Citadel is sponsored by -

Plimsoll Way Roundabout This roundabout is due to be rebuilt soon. Until that happens please when travelling from Myton Bridge towards the Victoria Dock use the correct lane, do not come round in lane 2 and cut into the island. This not only blocks the main road but you are cutting across traffic using the island as it was designed. This was raised by a resident. see
