Crop with the oval Framelits die and die-cut the blue and green patterned layers at the same time (all from the Enchanted set). Cut a large rectangle from floral card and a small one from pink. Trim each into a chevron shape, then mount the large floral rectangle onto the centre of a base card. Gently ink the edges of each piece for contrast. Decorate the die-cut phrase with tiny pearls. Print your personal sentiment and crop with the oval Framelits die. Die-cut the green patterned layer at the same time using the dies from the Enchanted set. Ink the edges and matt the layers together. Decorate with tiny pearls. Die-cut butterfly wings from the Heavenly set and ink the edges before gently curling them over. “PRINTED PAPER PACKS MAKE IT SO MUCH EASIER TO MIX AND MATCH YOUR COLOURS AND PATTERNS HARMONIOUSLY” Pete Hughes, Designer
Craft tip The subtle use of distress inks can help to add contrast to the die-cut edges when using patterned papers
Present Time CURL THE PETALS OVER USING A STYLUS AND FOAM MAT OR EVEN THE BACK OF A PAIR OF SCISSORS
Personalise your giftware with charms to make bespoke tags Print the sentiment and crop with the oval Framelits die. Die-cut the blue and pink patterned layers (Enchanted set) at the same time. Matt together and decorate with tiny pearl gems Die-cut ivory and floral pattern tag shapes. Trim the floral tag into a strip and mount. Die-cut the green decorative element (Enchanted set) and trim to size before attaching to the tag together with the assembled phrase. Used the Couquette die set to die-cut the flower shape. Ink the edges. Decorate the flower centre with a metal charm and silver pearl stamens threaded through the middle. Thread the tag with string and attach the assembled flower with a hot glue gun.
Candy Colours PLAIN ADHESIVE PEARLS CAN BE COLOURED USING ALCOHOL INKS TO HELP THEM BLEND IN WITH YOUR THEME

Attach a band of blue patterned card that can be removed easily. Position the assembled sentiment on the lid using foam pads. Die-cut the lock and key from the Pandora set and ink the edges. BRIGHTEN UP YOUR BOUDOIR AND ENCOURAGE CALMING THOUGHTS WITH SOPHIA PALMER’S
Our Advice... Don’t forget to follow your machine’s settings on how to put the feeders down; this will stop it pulling the fabric from you when embroidering free hand
WHAT YOU NEED Fabric: cotton; linen, a variety of purple colours Felt, white Ribbon, purple: silk; organza Thread: sewing; embroidery Dried lavender Wire hanger Stuffing Sewing machine and quilting foot

“MAKE UP A SET OF LARGER STUFFED HANGERS FOR YOUR WARDROBE; THEY'LL KEEP CLOTHES FRESH, AND WILL HELP THEM TO RETAIN THEIR SHAPE TOO” Sophia Palmer, Designer
LAVENDER POUCH Cut purple cotton or linen, 10cm x 12cm, then press in half. Trim white felt to 3.5cm x 7.5cm and, stitch it to one right side of the pressed fabric. Next, put a quilting foot on your sewing machine and free hand embroider a lavender motif onto the white felt. Fold the purple fabric in half, right sides together, and insert a loop of silk ribbon into the centre of the top edge facing inwards. Stitch the three open sides, leaving a 3cm gap in the bottom edge for turning. Turn out and press. Fill the pouch with a mixture of dried lavender and stuffing. Hand sew the opening closed with ladder stitch to finish.
Draw around hanger on paper, leaving the hook to poke out the top. Sketch around it again adding 2cm, for a seam allowance. Use this as a stencil to cut two from fabric.
Linen, Merchant and Mills, 01797 227789, merchantandmills.com Dried lavender, The Soap Kitchen, 0844 880 5381, thesoapkitchen.co.uk
Place the fabric pieces right sides together and pin. Stitch them together from the bottom left-hand corner, right around one side to the top where the hook will poke out. Leave a 1cm gap and continue to sew to the other bottom corner. Leave the rest open. Turn out and press, taking care to iron the bottom edge to help you finish it off later. Place the hanger inside the pouch, Fill with stuffing, making sure to push it right to the ends, then pin the open edge closed. Hand sew the open edge with ladder stitch. Once it's closed, manipulate the stuffing inside to make it smooth. Tie an organza bow ribbon around the bottom of the hook. Trim off any excess and add a few stitches through it to secure.
HANGING HEARTS Fold a 13cm square piece of paper in half and draw one side of a heart along the fold. Cut this out to create a stencil and use it to make four hearts from purple cotton or linen. From scrap fabric, cut two pieces, 4.5cm x 8.5cm, and sew these to two of the fabric hearts at an angle. Next, stitch white felt, 2cm x 7.5cm, on top at an opposite angle.
Keep calm and carry on...
Attach a quilting foot to your sewing machine and free hand embroider a piece of lavender onto one piece and the word ‘Lavandula’ onto the other. Get the remaining hearts and place them on the fronts, right sides together.
Not only is lavender good for your skin, hair and tummy, it's beautifully calming as well. You may have heard that breathing in the smell of lavender makes you drowsy and, as it turns out, it's true. Research shows the scent lowers heart rate and blood pressure, making you feel wonderfully relaxed. So make up these pouches and enjoy a blissful night's sleep!
Position a ribbon in the top, facing inside, then sew up the hearts, leaving a 3cm gap on one side. Turn out and press, then fill the hearts with lavender and stuffing. Use ladder stitch to close up the gap. CB
