Parents, Teachers, Principals & School Support Staff working together for our kids’ future

Currently, schools must fund their own IT Officer positions from their budgets, trade-in part of their teacher allocation to provide for IT Officers or pay contractors to provide IT support. Alternatively, principals, deputies, teachers or school support officers have to do their best to keep the technology functioning in their schools whilst still performing all their other duties. This means that not only does the level of IT support vary between schools, but schools have to make cuts elsewhere in their budgets

THE TPSA IS ASKING POLITICIANS FOR A COMMITMENT TO: 1

Funding for ICT systems and infrastructure

2 Funding for ICT support staff at 1FTE per 200

computers, with a shared resource for schools with less than 200 computers

3 Funding for training for IT officers and other

school staff

to maintain their computers and other digital equipment, with disadvantaged schools finding it even harder to provide this support. This is not acceptable! The CPSU/CSA has formed the Technology in Public Schools Alliance with the SSTUWA, WAPPA, WASSEA and WACSSO. To find out more about these organisations visit our website: www.tpsa.org.au
