Great Managers Are Made They Are Not Born Numerous articles and copy has been written on this much talked about topic. Opinions are vast and varied and makes for extremely interesting reading. One of my all time favourite quotations “Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile� - holds true for managers as well. One of the key aspects of being a great manager is being happy. You cannot inspire others to go beyond and push those barriers if you are not happy and secure within yourself first. A great manager is one who manages with head, heart and hand. HEAD: One whose management knowledge is well informed and insightful HEART: One who understands the importance of well-being at work, balancing effective knowledge skills and action with a focus on happiness HAND: One who has developed appropriate practical management skills, putting ideas into action Like a child at school in the learning phases; wielding the stick and ranting and raving with insults and corporal punishment NEVER gets positive results. The only thing one actually achieves from this aggressive behaviour is an even more nerve wrecked, anxious kid who is too afraid to even attempt an answer again. Another poor management statistic is managers who take on the school bully role. A great manager leads, develops, motivates and is willing to do whatever it takes to get his or her team to the optimum height and taste those rewarding fruits of achievement. People will never remember what you did, what you drove or what you wore however they will always remember how you made them feel.

It’s more than a conference centre; it’s an experience. Spier’s conference centre is designed to take advantage of business tourism. It has a 430-seater auditorium, three breakaway rooms seating up to 250 delegates and other flexible conferencing options. The Spier Hotel has 155 rooms to accomodate delegates, and restaurants, wine and leisure activities on site to cater to different needs. Conference organisers can choose from up to 17 venues of various sizes that seat 10 to 430 delegates. Tsogang Sechaba Community Project is a non-governmental, non-profitable and non-racial organization. It was established in 1999 and registered with the department of social services in October 2002 as an NPO under section 20. The project was founded and established by Ma Tony Gloria Bodibe who is Project Director. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors. GOALS To sensitize +- 800 youth about HIV/AIDS. To bring hope to people by sharing resources with those who are in need. To care for and support people with AIDS. To uplift the socially disadvantaged. To help eradicate poverty. To be available in times of disaster. To be assist with social security (late birth registration: ID Documentation). To bring about reconciliation. To share the love of God with no strings attached. 100 disadvantaged youth trained in positive perceptions and prevention of HIV and AIDS. Facilitate cross gender dialogue between young boys and girls on sexuality and HIV/AIDS. 100 young individuals trained in negotiation and conflict resolution and facilitation regarding sexuality and HIV/AIDS. OUR MISSION STATEMENT TSCP will at all times strive to provide support, both material and psychosocial, to the most vulnerable in society with the stated aim of lessening the impact of HIV and AIDS on society.
