Words for the Soul: Love What is love? Is love merely a feeling? Or is there something more to the word "love". Too often we throw the word around; "I love chocolate" or "I love my new clothes". When we do that, the word “love” loses meanings that it is intended to have; meanings that are so deeply rooted in loyalty, trust, and respect. So, I’ll say it..."love" is not a feeling. Affection is the feeling. "Love" is a decision that we must make; "love" is an action we must take; "love" is sacrifice we must partake. When love becomes an active word and not a passive one, when it becomes a word that describes our character and not our emotions, we will be able to make wise decisions about who we love, and about whom we let love us. You deserve to be loved...don't settle for anything less. - The Rev. Kris Schondelmeyer Special points of interest:
