CROP Sales Report The 16th Annual Cream of the Crop Sale was held on October 29, 2016 at Hoards Station Sale Barn, Campbellford, ON. An impressive line-up of top quality Blonde cattle drew a large crowd of buyers, bidders, and interested cattle folk alike.

he 16th Annual Cream of the Crop Sale was held on October 29, 2016 at Hoards Station Sale Barn, Campbellford, ON. An impressive line-up of top quality Blonde cattle drew a large crowd of buyers, bidders, and interested cattle folk alike. Seventeen consignors offered 38 lots, which brought an average of $2723.61. Top selling bull was Crystal Caesar 25C, consigned by Paul and Mary Ellen Ferguson of Crystal Farms and purchased by Richard Levert of Alexandria, ON for $4600. Top selling female was the two-time Ontario Blondes Top Show Female, Franmar Crystal 11C, consigned by Darren Dunham & Family, of Franmar Blonde Farm and fittingly purchased by Paul and Mary Ellen Ferguson of Crystal Farms for
$5000. Buyers and bidders, once again, spanned the country from British Columbia to Nova Scotia and all points in between. For the third year, attendees were able to crown a winner of the People’s Choice Award by voting for their favourite consignment. This year Reed Rigney of Willow Springs Stock Farm, Westlock, AB took home the banner sponsored by Acres Farms for his consignment, WSS Charlotte 9C, an eye catching 801X daughter. The purchaser, James Graham of Bull Moose Hill Farm from Belleisle, New Brunswick, also received a banner sponsored by Little Creek Farms. Several new buyers added Blondes to their herds this year and we wish them the best of luck and welcome them to the Association. Brian Down of Brileen Hill Farm graciously donated $50 to the purchasers of the top two selling animals in the sale along with $100 toward our 4-H members and we thank him for the generosity! Thank you, also, to the consignors, buyers, bidders, and all attendees for making this year’s sale another success!
