The Prairie Spirit Riders are an equine drill team formed five years ago by Donna McConnell of Pilot Mound and Sandy Yake from Mather, Manitoba. It started out with 12 riders but after a bit of time ended up with 8 totally committed team members. They ride once a week from April (weather permitting) through till October, and perform in several events during the summer months. Donna says, “We love to ride and go on many trail rides through the Valley and at Spruce Woods. We are ready to perform at any event that is within a reasonable distance for us as we don’t charge very much.
