The Council for Relationships Auction Benefit at the Overbrook Country Club is expected to have 150 guests from the Greater Philadelphia area in attendance. The evening will feature cocktails and tastings (passed hors d’oeuvres), a speech by Dr. Stephen Treat on the human charitable nature, a silent auction, and raffle.
The Council for Relationships is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to help people understand, respect, and improve the quality of the important relationships in their lives by providing unsurpassed clinical care, clinician education and training, and behavioral health research. The Council’s 71 therapists at 10 offices and community-based locations in the 5-county area provide counseling to families, couples and individuals on a sliding fee scale. In addition, the Council provides services to vulnerable populations such as persons with Multiple Sclerosis and their families, veterans and their families. The Council partners with community-based organizations to help homeless families, parolees, families whose children are at imminent risk of abuse or neglect, and formerly homeless families through the provision of counseling and education services. Since its inception in 1932, the Council has been committed to providing quality service and care regardless of client ability to pay. Today’s challenge is to sustain this commitment and to meet the expanding mental health needs of vulnerable populations.
