Adult Day Care
Adult day care helps people with some level of impairment engage in purposeful activity in a safe, supervised setting – while giving the primary caregiver a much-needed break.
We can assist with plumbing, flooring, electrical repairs, bathroom access, smoke detectors, handicap accessibility, furnace service and replacement, or other repairs necessary for safety and accessibility. Cosmetic repairs are not included.
Chore Services We can help with a variety of chores such as changing light bulbs, tacking down cords or rugs, raking leaves, shoveling snow, painting, and more.
Call us for a professional, in-home consultation with one of our experienced Care Consultants, who will work with you to customize a service plan designed exclusively for you. You’ll receive only the services you want – and need – from our comprehensive list of offerings.
A small help button worn around the neck or on the wrist provides a direct link to 24-hour emergency assistance.
Many older adults benefit from receiving more than one service. If you hire individual companies to provide each service, you’ll have to coordinate multiple appointments, receive separate invoices, and deal with a different customer service representative at each company. When you work with your Care Consultant, she will handle all the arrangements for you, and you’ll receive one simple statement each month.
Cost Eligibility for our services is not based on income. Services are available on a sliding fee scale – so your fees, if any, will depend on your ability to pay. The Council’s services are available to all Delaware County residents age 60 and older. Best of all, when you receive services through the Council, you will only pay for the services themselves. Your Care Consultant’s expertise is available at no additional charge to you.
In-home counseling is available for you and your family members, addressing grief, depression, anxiety, family caregiving issues, and more.
Emergency Response System
Homemaker Services For those unable to perform household tasks themselves, services may include light house cleaning, cooking, laundry, errands, and grocery shopping.
Home Delivered Meals The Council’s Meals On Wheels program provides hot, delicious, nutritious meals delivered by a caring volunteer. In addition to providing good nutrition, a home delivered meal also provides family members the security of knowing that someone is checking on their loved one every weekday.
“My mother says that the meals are very good and everyone who delivers them is punctual and pleasant. The service is very much appreciated.” - Son of a Council client
Medical Transportation Transportation to medical appointments, social service agencies, and adult day care centers can be provided.
Nursing Services Registered nursing services are available to help you achieve optimal health and wellbeing through health screenings and medication monitoring.
Personal Care Personal care assistants or home health aides help with activities such as bathing and dressing for those who are unable to perform those tasks on their own.
