Josh is also responsible for the Raymond James Technology Advisory Council, marketing technology to advisors, and strategic vendor relationships. Presenters Charles Evans, Sales Analytics Director—Invesco Charles Evans oversees strategic business planning, client engagement and CRM strategy for all lines of business. Charles has been in the financial services industry since 2005. Prior to his current role, which he has held since 2011, he worked within the finance organization at Invesco. Charles earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Houston.

John Few, Financial Advisor-Financial Planning Specialist—Morgan Stanley Smith Barney John Few currently serves as financial advisor within the Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. He has over 26 years of industry experience and focuses on investment management, asset allocation and diversifications strategies. Prior to joining Smith Barney, John worked as an institutional equity sales trader at Raymond James and Associates. Prior to his position as a sales trader, he was an equity OTC market maker responsible for committing the firm’s capital to provide liquidity for institutional and retail clients in the NASDAQ marketplace. John has also worked for Chemical Bank and Merrill Lynch. He holds an AB in history from Princeton University and graduated from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an MBA in international business. John holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 66 registrations and is licensed by the Florida State Board of Insurance. Terry Garvin, President—GFA Financial Group Terry Garvin has extensive experience in financial services including marketing, money management, sales, variable annuities, recruiting, training, product development, branch office management and more. He established GFA Financial Group in 2003 where he specializes in serving seniors, doctors and high net-worth clients. He currently manages $169 AUM and serves more than 2,000 clients. Previously, he worked for Western Reserve Life Assurance Company, Kennesaw Life and Lutheran Mutual Life. Terry is a graduate of Central College in Pella, Iowa. Art Hall, Director—Alvarez & Marsal Art Hall is currently leading two critical project management efforts for a large utility. One project focuses on enhancing the company’s existing contact center technology infrastructure and the other focuses on the implementation of a mobile application with business services like outage notification, account and usage management, start/stop/transfer of service and billing/payments. Art’s background includes more than 18 years of executive and advisory experience at a variety of healthy and underperforming companies. He has held operating positions and delivered strategic and performance improvement projects in a variety of industries including banking, direct marketing, financial services, healthcare, non-profit, retail, telecommunications and utilities.

Presenters Jeff Harring, CFP, Senior Vice President, Financial Planning—Harring Planning Group Jeff recently celebrated 25 years with Raymond James and currently serves as a Senior Vice President, Financial Planning. The Harring Planning Group team manages more than $135 million. Jeff has participated in numerous “beta” tests for new Raymond James technology, and was a charter member of the Raymond James Technology Advisory Council. He earned his CFP designation in 1993.

Matt Harring, Financial Advisor—Harring Planning Group Matt is a recent addition to the Harring Planning Group (HPG). Thanks to his previous work experience including sales and marketing with a major apartment owner in Florida; technical liaison for numerous physicians; and, a freelance website designer, Matt has been instrumental in reconfiguring HPG’s workflows and other processes using state of the art technology provided by Raymond James and other providers. Matt brings a “no paper, no excuses” approach to his goal of pulling reluctant Boomers into the 21st century. Michael McLaughlin, Partner—Naissance Mike McLaughlin believes the best advice needs time and effort, not a snap decision. Over his 14-year consulting career, Mike has worked with more than 50 investment managers. Representative projects include: creating a market positioning strategy for a top 15 institutional asset manager; refining brand/ product messages for the U.S. launch of an international fund company; crafting the pitch book for an alternative mutual fund and defining the Web strategy for a U.S. asset manager’s international expansion. Prior to launching Naissance, Mike held senior consulting roles at both kasina and Accenture. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and later received his MBA from the Yale School of Management. Doug McLucas, Vice President, Electronic Marketing—Fidelity Investments Doug McLucas joined Fidelity in 2000. In his current position, he is responsible for Fidelity Investment’s electronic marketing capabilities. This includes managing the website and Fidelity Investments Institutional Services AdvisorXchange content syndication program. Prior to joining Fidelity, Doug managed KPMG Peat Marwick’s global website and previously worked at State Street Corporation and was co-chief information officer of First Technology Credit Union. Doug earned his BS in economics from George Fox University and an MBA from the University of Portland. Ashok Mehta, Director, Business Analytics—Putnam Investments Ashok Mehta leads the analytics team at Putnam Retail Management where he is responsible for customer segmentation, statistical modeling for marketing campaigns, campaign attribution analysis, database marketing, CRM applications and key performance indicator reporting for sales. His efforts drive sales and marketing initiatives for the business. Prior to joining Putnam Investments in 1999, he was Marketing Research Manager at AT&T. He received his doctorate in economics from Maxwell School at Syracuse University.

Presenters Michael Mendelowitz, Director, North America Advisory Services, Analytics— Franklin Templeton Investments Michael Mendelowitz has over 25 years of financial services experience, starting at Salomon Brothers in New York and Tampa, then moving to Deutsche Bank in London and is now at Franklin Templeton Investments in St. Petersburg. He worked in the OTC derivatives market in various positions ranging from operations to legal and managed small and large teams in a global environment. At Franklin Templeton, Michael has data management, reporting and analytics under his domain for U.S. and Canada. Using the right analytical and business intelligence tools to assess and provide insights to the right person at the right time is the mission statement for his team. Steven Miyao, Founder & Chief Executive Officer—kasina Stephen Miyao is a trusted advisor to the world’s leading financial services companies and has earned this status by providing forward-looking and pragmatic advice in regards to corporate strategy, product development and distribution issues. Under Steven’s leadership, kasina has helped asset management and insurance leaders to answer two questions: What will the future look like? What do we need to change to stay ahead? kasina’s consulting, research and benchmarking services have impacted over 100 companies around the globe that comprise over $8 trillion in AUM. Steven has created methodologies to identify financial services companies’ most valuable customers and develop leading strategies for product, national accounts, wholesaling and marketing. He continues to establish industry best practices and trends that are instrumental to the formulation of his clients’ strategies. Rick Niedt, Director, Distributor Technologies—DST Systems, Inc. Rick Niedt joined DST in 2009 and is currently responsible for the management and direction of a suite of distribution-oriented products: SalesConnect, WalletShare, and Omnibus Transparency. In addition, he is also working on developing new products which will apply data analytics to large datasets. Rick began his career in Mellon Trust’s mutual fund operations group and later worked for Federated Investors and AccessData (now a BroadRidge subsidiary) before joining DST. Rick holds a BS in political science from Northern Michigan University. David Parsons, CFP, National Director—Edgewood Financial Network David Parsons began leading the Advanced Marketing Group supporting Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc. (TFA) in 2003. Following his success in that division, David was asked to assume a leadership position for an international financial services organization acquired by TFA. In his role as National Director, David is responsible for an experienced group of independent financial professionals located throughout the United States and in Western Europe. David is a pioneer in the financial services industry and was one of the early adopters of financial planning as a profession. David’s additional experience includes positions at Chase Manhattan Private Bank, Price Waterhouse, and, more recently, the marketing of nonqualified executive benefits working in the Fortune 500 market. David is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and obtained his accounting education at North Carolina State University.

Presenters Racine Romaguera, Vice President, Director of Development—AllianceBernstein Racine Romaguera leads the mobile/web strategy and development for U.S. Retail at AllianceBernstein, which he joined in 2001. His ideations and collaborations produce focused, interactive and portable tools for sales and marketing, enabling them to reach their Advisors wherever they are. His team creates, among other things, a quarterly interactive Capital Markets Outlook “Wired-like” iPad magazine that has received high praise. With more than 15 years of digital engagements, he brings a seasoned knowledge of usability and simplicity to web, mobile and social interactions. Previously, Racine drove web development and merchandising for $100M e-commerce incubator Accordia producing, and Prior to that, Racine led web production at Barnes & Noble’s first online retail business, launching and growing the site from a fledgling 50 page online catalog to a multi-category Amazon rival by 1999. Racine holds a BA in graphic design from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Deep Srivastav, Vice President Business Development, North America Advisory Services— Franklin Templeton Investments Deep Srivastav is based out of Franklin’s San Mateo, California, office and is responsible for leading the strategic initiatives, analytics and campaign efforts for the North America business. He has 14 years of work experience across asset management, operations and manufacturing. These include stints with GE in quality and with Oracle Financial Services as Head of Quality and Head of Operations in India. Deep is an Electronics Engineer by education and has a PGDM (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. Cam Stephenson, Vice President & Director of Marketing—Heartland Funds Prior to joining Heartland in 2012, Cam Stephenson was the Director of Marketing Communications and Operations at Stark Investments, where she was responsible for overseeing the firm’s public relations, investor relations and marketing initiatives. Prior to Stark, she was a member of the Institutional Client Services team at Artisan Partners and marketed their mutual funds to the defined contribution channel. Previously, Cam managed the 401(k) participant communications efforts at Wells Fargo Institutional Trust and Strong Retirement Plan Services. Cam began her career at Kohl’s Department Stores, building out the Kohl’s Charge and e-commerce field marketing teams. Cam holds a BA in English from Lake Forest College. Craig Taylor, Vice President, Acquisition Marketing—Wells Fargo Asset Management Craig Taylor joined Wells Fargo in 2008 to focus on developing marketing strategies and programs for the retail intermediary channel. Since 2010, he has led client acquisition and media strategies for distribution channels in the U.S. and Europe. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Craig led various marketing initiatives in both B2B and B2C business lines at Fidelity Investments in Boston, where he worked for nearly 20 years. Through his extensive direct marketing experience, he developed an expertise in resultsdriven print and electronic promotion of major product initiatives, including investment guidance and retirement income planning.
