SCHEDULE The Cory Elementary PTA Presents the 2017 Cory Annual Auction HOLLYWOOD: LIGHTS, CAMERA, AUCTION!

WELCOME

Friday, April 7 City Hall Events Venue 1144 Broadway TAKE A LEADING ROLE TO BENEFIT OUR KIDS! Wednesday, April 5 Electronic bidding opens to ticket purchasers for Buy-A-Shares, Teacher Treasures, Class Projects and Silent Auction items

April 7, 2017 What an amazing journey we have had this year as we have been learning how to “Grow Minds, Grow Teams, and Grow Together,” our theme here at Cory. As I wrap up my fifth year as your principal, I have been able to look back and see the positive parent and community support that helps make our school what it is, and I am thankful!

Friday, April 7 6:00 p.m. Electronic bidding opens to non-ticketed community members for Buy-A-Shares, Teacher Treasures, Class Projects and Silent Auction items

One of the highlights of this year was being honored as a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School. We attribute this success to our partnership with our parents, our phenomenal teachers, and an incredible support team. “College and Career Readiness” is a critical goal of Denver Public Schools. We believe that our job is to help all students realize their dream of going to college or stepping out into the career field. These dreams start as early as elementary school. One event that is critical to bringing in the financial support that we need to reach this goal is the Annual Cory Auction. The amount of volunteer hours that go into this event is incredible (It is like a full-time job!) and the Cory Crew (staff) and I are so very appreciative. Without the auction, we wouldn’t have paraprofessional support in the classroom. Our paraprofessionals are a key part of Cory’s success. Their presence and support allows the teachers to do what they do best—teach! We also wouldn’t be able to have many enrichment activities, engaging presentations or the latest technology without your generous support. We also would not –have full-time specials: a critical component of helping each child discover their unique talents outside the classroom. As a bonus, our specials actually support the academics, so it is a win-win, and we believe our specials teachers (PE, Art, Music, and Library/Computer) are essential to our success. As we continue our journey towards preparing students for college- and career-readiness, I would like to give a special thank you to the people who, because of their hard work and dedication to Cory, make the auction what it is today:
