Spine Wall : a work i ng prototype

The spine wall is a prototype for a system of partitions to be used in a studio or ofďŹ ce environment. The design of the spine wall is practical and utilitarian in nature. With a low height, it allows for 360° views around the space. The wall includes storage space, tackable surfaces and electrical access for computers, cellular phones, and desk lamps.

SOLAR DECATHLON

The Solar Decathlon is a competition that occurs biennially. Universities from across the globe submit proposals for solar efďŹ cient and cost effective homes. I put together a proposal for my own design. This house focused on modularity and the ease of construction. It featured clerestory windows and an interior light shelf which exposes the users to nature through vast amounts of light and raw materiality.

Acoustic Dock

This accessory is an unplugged solution for the iPhone using passive ampliďŹ cation through internal channels that reverberate the sound. Not intended as a product to replace your home stereo systems, but as a special piece to be used in an intimate setting. It’s composed entirely of baltic birch plywood and american walnut.

The process began with numerous sketches trying to arrive at a form in which was aesthetic, simple and also natural. The sketches also helped to develop materiality and strengthen the concept.

[ 2013 ASID Otto Zenke Honorable Mention ] This urban boutique hotel is designed to revitalize and rejuvenate the downtown scene within the city of Florence, South Carolina. Serving as a mid point between the North and the South, Florence is a deďŹ nite crossroads, and the perfect place to embody this idea. The concept of crossroads truly comes to life in every aspect of The Hotel Florence, through its rich and timeless materials which include natural hardwood ooring, pressed tin panels, ceramic tiles, and layers upon layers of other materials.
