Dear Friend:

James "Jamie"

As you prepare to go to the polls on Nov. 8 to elect the leaders of your choice, I encourage you to also vote in favor of an equally important measure on the ballot: Denmark-Olar School District Two's bond referendum.

Denmark-Olar Citizens for Better Schools P.O. Box 878 Denmark, SC 29042

PRSRT STD US POSTAGE PAID COLUMBIA, SC PERMIT #706

I was pleased to work with the District’s board and Superintendent in support of their application to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Rural Development for a $38 million, 40-year low-interest loan to finance their much needed school construction program. While I was pleased to be of assistance, it is up to you-the voters of Denmark-Olar Two-to make this effort a reality.

VOT NOVEM E BER 8 th ! for SCHO O L RICH BOARD DISTR LAND ICT TW O

Dear Northeast Resident: I am excited about the opportunity to run for Richland District Two School Board!

As a resident of Northeast Columbia, I have concerns about the challenges facing our School District. In the last ten years we have experienced significant change and growth in Northeast Richland County. These changes have directly impacted our school district. I am an involved community leader and businessowner with over 15 years of experience in the practice of law. Equally as important, I am an involved parent and school volunteer with four children attending Richland District Two Schools. As parents and residents of Northeast, I believe that we all share the same concern for the well-being of all of our children attending District Two schools. Together we can provide a positive, nurturing learning environment for all students. Currently, District Two is comprised of 40 schools and has over 27,000 students. In order to ensure and maintain the spirit of excellence that we have long valued, we must place priority on safety, instruction and student behavior. Collectively we can expand options, make improvements and meet the needs of our growing diverse population. I am ready to serve our community in this capacity . . . ready to meet this challenge! I want to put my skills and talents to work for District Two, providing us with stable leadership for changing times. Remember, absentee voting is now underway! And, the School Board race is a non-partisan race. So, after you vote for your partisan candidates, please be sure to vote for me, Jamie Shadd, for Richland District Two School Board! Again, I am asking for your support between now and Tuesday, November 8th! Together we can be successful,

James Shadd III ABSENTEE VOTING IS ALREADY UNDERWAY! Vote Between Now and November 8th!

The District’s plan to construct a new Pre-K-8 school, renovate the high school, and improve other key administrative and athletic facilities would give teachers the modern classrooms and technology needed to offer students a first-class education. I know from my own experiences as a public school teacher that poor classroom conditions, outdated technology and mechanical issues contribute to poor learning and teaching environments. The condition and environment of school buildings play a significant role in student achievement. That is why I support District Two’s effort to improve the condition of its schools. This also would boost community spirit and make the district more attractive to new businesses and new families. What a tremendous boost this would be for Bamberg County. On Nov. 8, vote yes to approve the bond referendum needed to repay this critical loan that will improve the lives of children in this community for generations to come. And don't go to the polls alone; take a family member, a friend or a neighbor with you. Every vote counts. Sincerely, Rep. James E. Clyburn Sixth District

STABLE LEADERSHIP FOR CHANGING TIMES "The District has experienced significant change and growth over the years. Such change requires stable leadership and consistent community and parental involvement. Together, we can provide a positive, nurturing learning environment for all students. To ensure and maintain excellence in the District, we must place priority on safety, instruction and student behavior. It must come from the students, parents, faculty, staff and our community partners." –James “Jamie” Shadd
