7-9 JUNE 2019

YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS... SEAFOOD EXPERIENCE BIM and Bord Bia put on a packed schedule of well-known chefs and fishmongers, including Neven Maguire, Rory O’Connell, Martin Shanahan, Hal Dawson and Pat O’Connell demonstrating how to prepare and cook sustainably sourced Irish seafood.

WILD ATLANTIC THEATRE The Marine Institute Wild Atlantic Theatre will take visitors on a journey of discovery. Drop in to hear the extraordinary tales from one of the world’s most respected cameramen, Doug Allan.

HAVE A GO Take to the seas! Why not try sailing with Try Sailing or kayaking with Atlantic Sea Kayaking or go on a traditional currach or dragon boat trip with Meitheal Mara. The world is your oyster!

MUSIC STAGE Pop along to the Music Stage where Music Generation Cork City will present performances from various groups. Some of Cork’s most talented young people will be on stage, playing a mix of musical genres. It runs throughout SeaFest daily.

FOOD VILLAGE Feeling peckish? At SeaFest’s Food Village, open daily from 10am to 6pm, there are over 30 food stalls to choose from. There is also a strictly compostable, recyclable and reusable policy in operation.

TIGHTROPE WALK Hold your breath as you watch the great Chris Bullzini walk a tightrope suspended across the River Lee! This special performance takes place on Sunday.

KIDS ZONE Little hands will be kept busy with a host of fun and educational marine-themed activities such as the Young Scientist Exhibition, sand art, marine workshops and more!

DEFENCE FORCES Throughout SeaFest, the Defence Forces will be on-hand with a fascinating display of their current equipment and capabilities display.

ALL HANDS ON DECK Jump on deck with fantastic vessel tours at SeaFest. Featuring the Marine Institute’s RV Celtic Explorer, the Tall Ship The Phoenix, and the Commissioner of Irish Lights’ ILV Granuaile. Open daily, 10am-6pm.

ARC DE TRIOMPHE A first for SeaFest, BIM’s Aquaculture Remote Classroom (ARC) is designed to raise awareness of our aquaculture with interactive activities. Try the Virtual Reality headsets to experience what mussel beds are like close-up.

REBEL PLUNGE SWIM Come along and cheer on the brave swimmers! You can follow the participants along a spectator friendly course, with views from the Marina to the finish. It kicks off from the Port of Cork at 1.30pm on Sunday.

OUR OCEAN WEALTH SUMMIT Our Ocean Wealth Summit brings together Irish and international organisations working to create sustainable solutions with global impact that drive our blue economy. Takes place at Cork City Hall on the 10th June. See www.ouroceanwealth.ie.
