OBJECTIVE

Sub Pop Records

Beach House is releasing a new album in 2012 titled Wild. They are also planning to launch a tour following the release of the new record. Beach House is in need of a consistent appearance throughout this entire campaign.

BACKGROUND Sub pop was introduced in the early 1980’s by Bruce Pavitt, who first started a fanzine while attending college in Olympia, Washington. The fanzine focused on independent record labels in America that he named Subterranean Pop. “The Sub Pop #5 cassette, released in 1982, sold two thousand copies.” (Azerrad p.413*) Sub Pop Record label grew it’s fame through Seattle’s music scene in the late 1980’s. They had signed bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden and popularized the grunge genre. In the new millennium they have signed pop bands including: Beach House, The Shins, Fleet Foxes, The Postal Service, and many more. *Azerrad, Michael. Our Band Could Be Your Life. Little, Brown and Company, 2001.

SOLUTION Develop an illustrative style to apply to the campaign to create unity. From album art to tour posters there will be this consistency in the theme “Wild”.
