THE GEORGIA TECH STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCAITION
Communications Board August 27, 2009 BI-WEEKLY NEWSLETTER BY Vice President of Communications Corey Boone
Fellow Yellow Jackets, This year will be the start of a number of exciting changes within your Student Government Association. One of our main goals this year is to engage every Yellow Jacket in meaningful dialogue about the issues that matter to them most. In order to keep the student body engaged, we’ll need your help. Encourage your friends to subscribe to our newsletter (firstname.lastname@example.org), follow us on Twitter (@gtsga), or become a fan of us on Facebook. We want to hear from you!
Currently, we are working on a number of things to make your student experience better. As we go throughout the year, please let us know how you feel about the issues and how we can improve your student experience. Below are updates that will be affecting you immediately:
Campus Affairs Board Parking and Transportation • The Safe Ride Home Program: allows students living in Home Park and Centennial Place to take the Stingerette from campus back to their housing for a small charge of $4 a ride.
Parking is also offering an Evening/Weekend parking pass to all students. This pass will allow students who live off campus to bring their cars to campus during the nights and weekends. These permits are also sold at the Parking and Transportation office for $100.
LED Nextbus signs will be installed very soon, and new pilot programs are in the process for additional trolley stops at key areas on campus. We are also in the process of talking to Parking and Transportation about revising the parking ticket options.
