Be aware of the signs of heat-related illnesses, for yourself and those around you: Dehydration: headache, fatigue, lightheadedness Heat cramps: muscle cramps Heat exhaustion: nausea, dizziness, fainting Heat stroke: lack of perspiration, confusion (call 911 as this can be life threatening!) The Sonoran sun is intense, and the need to

protect your skin from its UV rays is vital if you plan to be outside for extended periods of time. The sun’s rays are most intense from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dermatologists recommend that you use sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or greater, and wear long sleeves, a wide brimmed hat, and sunglasses during those hours. Enjoy your recreation and trips out and about in the Sonoran desert but do it safely! Be sure to protect the children too.

Pastor’s Corner: Our Sexual Activities are Out of Control By Joe PalmerPastor Fellowship Baptist Church God invented sex. He designed it to be a joyful wonderful thing which would not only multiply the human race but also enhance the bonds of commitment between a married man and woman. As a society we have agreed that not every possible sexual act is acceptable. Our social agreements are now changing even though our Maker’s design for sex and for our happiness has remained the same. With the change of the moral code among us, has come an increase in sexual abuse and sexual addiction. By the time they are 18, one in three girls will have been sexually abused. One in six boys will also be abused by someone they

are supposed to be able to trust. It is not prudish to say this should not happen and that we should discipline our sexual appetite. The consequences of sexual abuse for anyone are devastating. If you need help, or if you would like to help others, then plan on joining us on Sept. 8 at Fellowship Baptist Church

at 6 p.m. to watch videos of professional Christian counselors who will teach us how to care for people God’s way. Song of Solomon 7:10 says, “I am my beloved’s, and his desire is for me.” If you would like to talk with me (Pastor Joe Palmer of Fellowship Baptist) about it, email me at joeandsuzypal@yahoo. com.
