The Office For four decades Cooper and Gardner has been sought after to create elegant building and space design solutions across the spectrum in Bermuda’s built environment and, periodically, internationally. The office’s work is currently exploring the opportunities for beauty and grace available between disciplined modernism/ minimalism and the most attractive characteristics of Bermuda’s unique vernacular. We seek an international standard of work inspired by the economy of form, an honest adherence to material and the possibilities of light. Cooper and Gardner believe in delivering Architectural solutions. This requires careful commitment and the collaboration of all stakeholders in order to meet the needs of the program. It is vital that the process is inspirational and that the response is imbued with meaning. Appropriate and exciting structures and spaces are based in pragmatic responses to practical requirements being available to critical thinking and the pleasure of well-crafted work.
The “Pattern” Book The following collection of images represents an on-going project on behalf of Cooper Gardner to catalogue and make available a public collection of architectural elements found throughout the Island of Bermuda. The “Pattern” books are an unfaltering body of research that will, over time, lead to discussions in architectural research, thinking and design of exciting structures and spaces within Bermuda. The images depicted in each “Pattern” book are the property of Cooper Gardner. Reference must be made to Cooper Gardner, should any image be use in a publication, presentation or research project.
