Day 1: Surfers Paradise Meet up with your Contiki Crew & head into the bright lights of Surfers Paradise for a great night out with your new travel buddies! Hotel Visit Jupiter's Casino Day 2: Surfers Paradise Surfers Paradise is the place to party in the ‘sunshine state’. Combine sun, surf, adventure, water activities & more bars & nightclubs than you could ‘poke a stick at’, & you have a travellers paradise! Hotel Day 3: Surfers Paradise to Fraser Island Explore Brisbane, a cosmopolitan city that has still retained a laid-back, small town attitude. After lunch it’s on to Noosa, a little beach resort blending the chic with surf culture. Eco Lodge (B,D) Brisbane city tour Watch a fascinating cutting demonstration of Australia’s national gemstone, the Opal Visit picturesque Noosa & its beach Day 4: Fraser Island Take a full day to uncover World Heritage listed Fraser Island, a gigantic 800,000 year old sandbar. Bushwalk & 4WD through its diverse ecology of rainforests, towering sandunes & freshwater lakes. Eco Lodge Scenic boat trip to Fraser Island Stay in the eco-village & enjoy the resort facilities Day 5: Fraser Island to Country Homestead A bit further north & find yourself at our homestead in the heart of Australia’s cattle country. Enjoy this evening’s activities with music, a bar & a bonfire Day 6: Country Homestead to the Whitsundays Pass through Mackay & its sugar cane fields en route to Airlie Beach - gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. A quick ferry ride & you’ll find yourself in a slice of heaven on tropical Daydream Island. Days 7-8: The Whitsundays Time to slow it down, chill out, & catch some rays on the amazing white sandy beaches. Day 9: The Whitsundays to Cairns Go north to the happening city of Townsville that straddles the coast & the outback. Continue road-tripping along the spectacular Great Green Way via Tully to the ever-popular travellers’ hub of Cairns. Resort (B) Townsville city tour View Magnetic Island, an unspoilt national park, from Townsville Cross the Tully River, home to Australia's best white water rafting Days 10-11: Cairns With a lush tropical setting, Cairns has so much to offer – great restaurants, bars, markets, shopping, & of course, nightlife! It’s also the jumping off point for lots of activities like the Outer Barrier Reef cruise or whitewater rafting. Resort (B) Cairns city tour Day 12: Cairns Visit Tjapukai to learn about fascinating & ancient Aboriginal culture. Then it’s back to Cairns where the tour ends & it’s time to say farewell to your new friends.
