 As a result of the ice-based energy storage, the Alamo Heights Independence School District is reducing peak energy consumption despite an increase in square footage and student population.

New approaches to energy efficiency in this sector are desperately needed to reduce U.S. energy use. Obectives include understanding the barriers and opportunities for developing approaches to deploying energy efficiency.



Living HVAC LG Electronics USA is hosting a series of special “living case studies” in New York, Chicago and L.A., for example, aimed to connect consumers, architects, engineers and designers with true-life examples of its HVAC solutions in action. Titled “LG’s Living Case Study: Innovative HVAC Application in a Luxury High-Rise,” the technology showcase L.A.’s Vermont featured a rooftop tour highlighting LG’s innovative Multi V III Heat Recovery system. LG’s “Living Case Study: Innovative HVAC Application in a Landmark Hotel” in Chicago highlighted the Multi V IV Heat Recovery system, ductless Art Cool Mirror in-room units and the AC Smart IV thermostat. One of the developer’s key

challenges at The Chicago Motor Club building—reopened as the Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown—was installing an updated, efficient heating and cooling system without disturbing or disrupting the building’s historic—and protected—architecture. Given the building’s historic status, all LG VRF mechanical equipment needed to fit in the building’s limited interior space and on its small rooftop footprint.
