Mi pretstavuva osobena ~est i zadovolstvo mo`nosta da bidam pokrovi­ tel na reprezentativnata manifestacija na makedonskoto muzi~ko tvore[tvo – Denovi na Makedonskata Muzika-2011. Godinava vo poslednite denovi na Mart i simboli~no vo prvite de­no­vi na proletta, Denovite na Makedonskata Muzika po 34-ti pat na po[iroka­ta jav­ no­st ]e i pretstavat del od riznicata na makedonskoto sovremeno muzi~ko tvo­re[tvo interpretirana od vrvni muzi~ki ispolniteli. Osobeno raduva faktot [to makedonskata muzika osven od doma[­ni­te is­polniteli, godinava ]e bide interpretirana i od svetski poznati imiwa kako ansamblite CALIFORNIA E.A.R.UNIT od SAD, SCHULTZING od Germanija, MCME od Ruska Federacija , KREUTZER QUARTET od Velika Britanija , „LP“ od Srbija . Ova e dokaz pove]e deka makedonskata muzi~ka umetnost i kultura odamna gi ima nadminato nacionalnite granici i e na[ dostoen reprezent vo svetot. Dozvolete, naijskreno na u~esnicite da im posakam visoki estet­ski do­s­ tre­­li, a na publikata koja ]e gi sledi koncertnite nastapi da i posakam pri­ jatni i nezaboravni do`ivuvawa.

Niz godinite [to se zad nas makedonskoto muzi~ko tvore[tvo gi do`ivea najgolemite isku[enija vo svojata moderna istorija. Kako da se opstoi na potrebite na visokite kriteriumi [to gi postavija korifeite na muzi~kata tvore~ka misla kaj nas vo vtorata polovina od minatiot vek, vo vremeto na golemi op[testveni turbulencii i materijalni nebidnini? Kako da se dr`i ~ekorot so sovremenite svetski tvore~ki struewa vo epohata na „masovna trivijalizacija“, epohata na dominacija na materijalnoto nad duhovnoto? I, kako da se participira vo taa „golema duhovna reka“, kako da se iskoristat pridobivnite na digitalnata era, kako da se vleze vo „komunikaciskiot avtopat“ i, pritoa, da se zadr`i svojata avtohtonost, avtenti~nost, posebnost? A, sepak, da se bide del od neminovnata, neizbe`nata, s¡prisutna globalizacija? Sojuzot na kompozitorite na Makedonija izminatava decenija „ja potro[i“ vo naporite da se olesni odgovorot na ovie pra[awa. Ne da se dade, bidej]i odgovorot, vo krajna linija e odgovor na samite tvorci, na nivnite tvore~ki ve[tini i posebni estetiki. Na po~etokot na vtorata decenija mo`eme da zaklu~ime deka sme na dobar pat: delata na na[ite avtori „zvu~at“ na site svetski meridijani, a od druga strana - odglasot na sovremenite svetski struewa se ~uvstvuva vo sekoja na[a pora. Dali e toa dovolno? Sekako ne! No, i godina[nive DMM i sekoja akcija na SOKOM treba da se sfatat kako napor da se dosegne nikoga[ nedofatlivata cel. 34 - ti „Denovi na makedonska muzika“

Dobrodojdovte na „Denovite na makedonska muzika 2011“! Verojatno najvoo~livata karakteristika na godine[noto izdanie na DMM e generaciskata obnova me\u makedonskite kompozitori. Tradicionalniot kon­cert na Makedonskata filharmonija ovaa godina celosno ¢ e posveten na pomladata generacija makedonski kompozitori koi na ovoj koncert za prv pat ]e gi slu[nat svoite prvi simfoniski dela. Pogolemoto prisustvo na ovaa i na generacijata malku postara od niv e zabele`liva i vo ostanatiot del od programata. Tamu, zaedno so osnovopolo`nicite na makedonskata sovremena muzika (od koi nekoi kako Dragan |akonovski-{pato, Toma Pro[ev, Vlastimir Nikolovski i Stojan Stojkov slavat zna~ajni jubilei) i so nivnite vrsnici od celiot svet se izveduvani od svoite najbliski kolegi-sorabotnici, no i od nekolku renomirani ansambli i solisti. Nekoi od niv (kako duoto LP i Moskovskiot ansambl za sovremena muzika) se za prvpat vo Makedonija, no nekoi se ve]e doka`ani prijateli na makedonskata muzika (Piter {epard, Ejmi Nouls, {tefan {ulce) i so svoeto prisustvo u[te edna[ ja potvrduvaat vrednosta na kulturnata razmena i sorabotka tolku osobena za ovoj festival. STEFAN GAJDOV (1905-1992) Composer, conductor and music pedagogue, one of the most distinguished persons in Macedonian music. He was born in Ve­les on May 26, 1905. After he completed his high school education, he goes to Bel­gra­de and enters the Music School, Theory Department. At the same time he stidies composition in the class of prof. Milivoe Milivoevic. In 1929 he returns to Veles, where he forms the “Echo From Vardar” chorus in the same year. He runs that chorus until 1932, when he parts for Vukovar, where he taches music at the Music High School. In 1951 and 1952 he is Manager of the Macedonian National The­atre Opera, and from 1955 until 1970 he is Direcotor of the Music High School in Skopje. VLASTIMIR NIKOLOVSKI (1925-2001), Academician, commenced his studies in composition at the Leningrad Conservatory, with O.A.Evlahov, and then continu­ ed at the Music Academy in Belgrade, in the class of professor M.Zivkovic. Since 1955, Nikolovski has occupied the following positions in Skopje: director of the Macedonian National Opera & Ballet; editor at Radio Skopje; professor at the Teachers’ College, and in 1966 he was the first Dean and Associate Professor at the newly established High Music School - now the Faculty of Music in Skopje. His opus consists of more than 130 works: symphonic, concert, vocal-instrumental music, cantatas and oratorios, chamber music, etc.. His compositions have been performed in more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia and America. He has been awarded 41 rewards, both competition and state acknowledgements. DRAGAN, |AKONOVSKI - {PATO (1931 - 1987), kompozitor, aran`er, dirigent, svojata isklu~itelna muzi~ka darba ja dol`i, me\u drugoto, i na svoeto poteklo: izrasnuva vo muzi~ko semejstvo vo koe tatkomu Vasil bil muzi~ki pedagog i violinist. TOMA PROSEV (1931-1997) graduated composition from the Lubljana Academy of music, in the class of Lucijan Marija Scerjanc. Afterwards, he continued his education in Paris, with Nadia Boulanger. In 1967 Prosev became a Professor of

his musical background and origin – he grew up in a musical family in which his father, Vasil Gjakonovski played an exceptional role as music teacher and violinist. In Macedonian popular music, Vasil Gjokonovski has a very important place. Shpato first comes in contact with the jazz music through the foreign radio stations, such as The Voice of America and Radio Luxembourg. In 1948, he forms the Student Academic Jazz Ensemble. In 1950 he started working in Radio Skopje, where he established the Dance Orchestra of MRT. In a short course of time, Shpato had become one of the leading arrangers and orchestrators in former Yugoslavia. His fascinating opus comprises over 5000 arrangements for small groups, bid band orchestras, string ensembles and festival orchestras. He has written over ten original compositions, among which Leni, Zar se pominalo, Molchi edna dolina and others, in which he has marked his individual signature. His influence on other composers of this music genre in Macedonia has been great.

His creative opus comprises versatile music forms and genres (orchestral, concert, stage music, theatre and film music, popular music, as well as music for big band, etc.). He is an author of orchestral, vocal-instrumental, choir and chamber works. He is performed in Macedonia and abroad. He has received numerous awards and recognitions. His compositions have been per足 formed in Macedonia, USA, Russia, France, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Belgium, Turkey, Albania, etc. Currently, he is professor at the Faculty of Music in Skopje. KIRE KOSTOV (1949) studied at the Music Academy in Belgrade, and graduated at the Faculty of Music in Skopje. He started composing at a very early age, first composing children’s songs and then music for jazz orchestras, popular and applied music. He is an author of a large number of original pieces and arrangements for symphonic and jazz orchestras, for which he has been awarded many times. He has been performed in the coutry and abroad.

TOME MANCHEV (1950) graduated at the Theory and Composition Department, at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, in the class of V. Nikolovski. In 1988 he received his Master’s Degree in Prague, in the class of professors J.Dvorzacek and J.Ceremuga. In Sofia, in 1998, Manchev received his Ph.D. in orchestration, under the guidance of prof. D. Sagaev. MIROSLAV SPASOV (1965)earned his BMus in Composition, Conducting, and Theory from St.Kiril i Metodij University's Faculty of Music, Skopje, Macedonia between 1984-1992. Gained his Ph.D. in Composition at the University of Calgary where he taught composition, electroacoustic composition, and musicianship during 20022003. He was appointed as Assist.Professor and Acting Chair of the Department of Music at Eastern Mediterranean University, Famagusta, where he taught music technology, composition, orchestration, 20th century music analysis and directed the chamber music ensemble. He joined the Music Departmentat Keele in 2005 where he teaches Electroacoustic Music, Electroacoustic Composition, and Computer Music Techniques. Her works have been performed by Macedonian and foreign soloists and ensembles in Macedonia, Austria, Croatia, Srbia and Montenegro, Slovenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Russia, France. She currently works as a professor at the Faculty of Music in Skopje. PANDE {AHOV (1973) u~el kompozicija kaj Risto Avramovski, a potoa se zapi[uva na FMU, kade diplomira 1997 godina, vo klasata na prof. Tomislav Zografski. Kako stipendist na Britanskiot sovet, vo 2000 godina zavr[uva postdiplomski studii na Kralskiot kolex za muzika vo London, vo klasata na Xulijan Anderson. PANDE SHAHOV (1973) began composing under the guidance of Risto Avramovski, before studying composition with Tomislav Zografski at the Music Academy in Skopje. As a scholar of the British Council, he completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Composition with Julian Anderson at the Royal College of Music in London (2000). In his compositions, which are mainly chamber and orchestral pieces, he explores

He has worked as a conductor at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, and has cooperated with Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and all important ensembles in Macedonia. At the moment he teaches at the Yamaha Music School in Chadler, Arizona. His creative opus consists of chamber and symphonic music.

He is currently working on a piano concerto and songs for baritone and orchestra, upon poems by the British poet Richard Meier. He currently lives in Hampshire (England) and teaches composition and analysis at St Vincent College.

Among prizes/awards are the United Music Publishers Prize for composition at the RCM (2001), a British Government Chevening scholarship (2002) and the Pande Peshev award (2006) for best new piece at the festival Days of Macedonian Music. His music has been promoted by RCM’s Composers futures scheme and the Society for the Promotion of New Music (SPNM), and performed in the UK, Macedonia, America and Japan. He taught at the RCM until 2007, and is currently teaching privately in London. As a violinist, Mihailo has performed throughout Europe and America, and is especially active in the performance of contemporary music; he joined the Kreutzer Quartet in 2006, with whom he has recorded for Naxos and Toccata Classics. GORAN NACHEVSKI (1978) finished Music High School in Skopje – composition with PhD. T.Mancev. In 2000 he graduates composition at the Faculty of music arts in Prague (Czech Republic) with M.Slavicky. VLADIMIR NIKOLOV was born and raised in Skopje, Macedonia (1979). He started music at the age of 14, beginning with the guitar. Soon after, he enrolled in classical guitar studies with Vera Ogrizović, graduating with an original composition. Meanwhile, he began cross-over composing and arranging, mentored by Ilija Pejovski. After departing for the Netherlands in the autumn of 2002, he started jazz composition and arranging studies with Jurre Haanstra, at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, graduating 2005 with a Big Band performance of his original works. As a composer/arranger and band leader, Vladimir worked with many different orchestras and ensembles, including the Metropole Orkest, Magogo Kamerorkest, Pophorn Big Band, Belgrade Philharmonic, Orchestra Jazz della Sardegna, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and many others. Among the collaborative artists, he worked with: John Clayton, Randy Brecker, Conrad Herwig, Gino Vannelli, Sertab Erener, Slobodan Trkulja, to name but a few. He won several international prizes, including two first prizes for original compositions and four hommages to jazz composers. ALEKSANDAR PEJOVSKI (1979) graduated theory at Faculty of Music Arts 2004. Harmonic basics of jazz and arranging studied with Ilija Pejovski, composition lessons with prof. Tomislav Zogravski. His work includes: Cello concerto, three pieces for symphonic orchestra, one for large wind orchestra and ten original compositions and arrangements for Big Band orchestra as well. His chamber music work includes: string quartet, trombone quartet, duets for violoncello and piano. Most of his works heve been performed in Italy, Croatia, USA, Japan. In 2004 he won the first prize for the original composition “People” in Barga - Italy. In 2005 he promoted his first album in MC Gallery, New York. In 2006 his composition “Haicube 575” was selected in the final 7 of 86 participants, at the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra Inernational composition competition, Japan. ELIZABETA ILIEVSKA (1982) graduated from the Faculty of Music in Skopje, at the Department of music pedagogy(2005) and composition(2008). Her composition opus consists of different genres, among them: solo, choral, chamber and orchestral works. Her compositions have been performed in Argentina, Albania, Bosna and Hercegovina, Czech Republic, Serbia, and Switzerlend. She has won several awards and acknowledgements. FATOS QUMANI (1983), diplomiral kompozicija na Akademijata za umetnost vo Tirana, vo klasata na prof. Toma Gaci. Dobitnik e na vtorata nagrada na konkursot „Cesk Zadaja“, kako i na prvata nagrada na festivalot na mladi kompozitori vo Albanija. Vo momentot raboti kako Docent na Univerzitetot vo Tetovo. Avtor e na orkestarski, kamerni i solisti­~ki dela. FATOS LUMANI (1983) was born in Struga. He graduated composition at the Academy of arts in Tirana, in the class of prof. Toma Gaci. Ha has received the second award from the concours “Cesk Zadaja”, and the first award form the Festival of young composers in Albania. At the moment he is working as a Docent at the Universiry in Tetovo. He has written orchestral, chamber and solo compositions. The Composers Association of Macedonia – SOKOM is founded in 1947 as a non governmental and non profitable organization consisted of composers and musicologist. The main activities of SOKOM are: Publishing – until now SOKOM has published more than 100 records, CDs, audio and video tapes with works by Macedonian composers. There are also more than 1000 titles published: musical literature, scores, professinal and educational books, by Macedonian composers and musicologists. Concert activities – SOKOM is specialized concert agency, organizing concerts of classical and modern music. SOKOM is also one of the biggest promoters of Macedonian music culture in Macedonia and abroad. Festivals – Manifestations – SOKOM is the organizer of the annual international festival “Days of Macedonian Music”, held each March in Skopje. In seven days the festival presents many new works from Macedonian composers and composers from other countres. SOKOM is also organizer of the Music manifestation “Struga Music Autumn” wich is held in Struga in September. The manifestation, mostly concentrated on music science, is consisted from scholarly conference and concerts of traditional spiritual and folk music. International activities – SOKOM communicates and cooperates with many foreign organizations. SOKOM is member of the ECF – European Composers Forum, ECPNM – Europian Conference of Promoters of New Music, and several other Balkan and European organizations and associations.
