Mi pretstavuva osobena ~est i zadovolstvo mo`nosta da bidam pokrovi­ tel na reprezentativnata manifestacija na makedonskoto muzi~ko tvore[tvo – Denovi na Makedonskata Muzika-2010. Godinava vo poslednite denovi na Mart i simboli~no vo prvite de­no­vi na proletta, Denovite na Makedonskata Muzika po 33-ti pat na po[iroka­ta jav­ no­st ]e i pretstavat del od riznicata na makedonskoto sovremeno muzi~ko tvo­re[tvo interpretirana od vrvni muzi~ki ispolniteli. Osobeno raduva faktot [to makedonskata muzika osven od doma[­ni­te is­ polniteli, godinava ]e bide interpretirana i od svetski poznati imiwa kako Big Bendot na {tefan {ulce od Germanija, Noviot Londonski Kameren Hor od Velika Britanija i Ansablot ARCHAEUS od Romanija. Ova e dokaz pove]e deka makedonskata muzi~ka umetnost i kultura odamna gi ima nadminato nacionalnite granici e i na[ dostoen reprezent vo svetot. Dozvolete, naijskreno na u~esnicite da im posakam visoki estet­ski do­s­ tre­­li, a na publikata koja ]e gi sledi koncertnite nastapi da i posakam pri­ jatni i nezaboravni do`ivuvawa.

Kontekstot vo koj go ozna~uvame startot na 33-to izdanie na Denovite na makedonskata muzika i so najdobra `elba ne mo`eme da go ozna~ime kako blagoprijaten. Poprvo mo`e da se nare~e slo`en, ispolnet so neizvesnosti, ispolnet so predizvici, i, so samoto toa, - ispolnet so potrebi, so nade`i, so streme`i. Kulturata voop[to, a umetnosta – posebno re~isi nikoga[ vo istorijata, kako vpro~em i denes, ne bile i ne se generatori na takvite sostojbi. I, [to e poseben paradoks, re~isi sekoga[ tie bile barem del od re[enieto na tie istoriski rebusi. Tie bile i tie se popri[teto na koe treba da se bara izlezot od levirintite [to ni gi nametnuva svetot so svoite kontradiktornosti i animoziteti, tie bile i tie se prostorot vo koj trebaat da se baraat novite horizonti na utre[ninata. 33-te Denovi na makedonska muzika gi zapo~nuvame so svesta deka pra[awata [to go ma~at ~ovekot vo tekot na celoto negovo postoewe, zna~i, otu\uvaweto, nerazbiraweto, nemaweto me\usebna tolerancija - vo eden golem del se rezultat na nedostig na kultura, umetnost, muzika. No, ne gi zapo~nuvame so iluzija deka tie retrogradni procesi mo`e lesno ili edna[ za sekoga[ da bidat re[eni. Patot po koj denes trgnuvame e samo edna kusa otse~ka vo toj beskraen od kon, ako mo`e taka da se ka`e, o~ove~uvaweto na ~ovekot. Dobrodojdovte na „Denovite na makedonska muzika 2010“!

Na samiot po~etok na ovogodine[noto izdanie na festivalot se navra­]ame na eden `anr za ~ija[to prezentacija, zaradi nedostigot od soodvetni profesionalni ansambli vo na[ava sredina, za `al s¡ pomalku imame uslovi - toa e makedonskata xez muzika sozdadena za big bend. Se nadevame deka izvedbata na ansamblot na {tefan {ulce od Germanija ne samo [to ]e frli nova svetlina vrz makedonskoto tvore[tvo za vakov sostav od ve]e etablirani, no i pomladi doka`ani makedonski avtori vo ovoj `anr, ]e bide privle~en za po[irokata makedonska publika, tuku istovremeno i ]e ja aktuelizira nasu[na­ ta potreba od postoeweto na vakvite ansambli vo zemjava. Pokraj redovnite koncerti, prodol`uvaj]i ja ve]e vospostavenata tradicija na festivalot tvore[tvoto na makedonskite kompozitori da go preispituvame vo po[irok kontekst, godinava istovremeno ]e se zapoznaeme i so romanskata sovremena muzika, kako i so svetskata klasika za me[an hor preku programata na Noviot londonski kameren hor. Koncertot “made in 2009-2010” od druga strana verojatno najto~no ]e ja dopolni slikata za ona [to makedonskite kompozitori go sozdavaa vo tekot na minatata godina. TRAJKO PROKOPIEV (1909-1979) graduated in Belgrade in 1934, in the class of Miloje Miloevik. He has been appointed the first director of the High Music school in Skopje. He spends the year 1946 at the Prague Conservatory, where he studies orchestral conducting with prof. Pavel Djedechek. He has worked at the Macedonian Radio, and as conductor of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, Macedonian Opera and director of Ensemble “Tanec”. He is an author of two operas, one ballet, many compositions for orchestra and choir compositions. He has received many awards and acknowledgments. TODOR SKALOVSKI (1909-2004) commenced his musical education in 1930 in Belgrade with professors Kosta Manojlovich, Josip Slavenski, Miloje Molojevich, and others. Skalovski has taught music and conducted a number of choirs in Skopje, Belgrade and Sremska Mitrovica since 1936. He was editor-in-chief, assistant director and conductor of the newly established Opera, and director and conductor of the Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra since 1954. He also participated in the foundation of the Musicians’ Association and the Composers’ Association of Macedonia. In 1972 Skalovski was admitted to the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts as an associate member, and in 1975 he became its full member. He has been awarded a number of rewards and acknow­ ledgements in the country and abroad. His opus comprises works in the orchestral, vocal-instrumental, solo and chamber, and choir genre. His compositions have been performed in the country, as well as in a number of foreign countries. VLASTIMIR NIKOLOVSKI (1925-2001), Academician, commenced his studies in composition at the Leningrad Conservatory, with O.A.Evlahov, and then continu­ ed at the Music Academy in Belgrade, in the class of professor M.Zivkovic. Since 1955, Nikolovski has occupied the following positions in Skopje: director of the Macedonian National Opera & Ballet; editor at Radio Skopje; professor at the Teachers’ College, and in 1966 he was the first Dean and Associate Professor at the newly established High Music School - now the Faculty of Music in Skopje. His opus consists of more than 130 works: symphonic, concert, vocal-instrumental music, cantatas and oratorios, chamber music, etc.. His compositions have been performed in more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia and America. He has been awarded 41 rewards, both competition and state acknowledgements.

ALEKSANDAR LEKOVSKI graduated in composition and conducting at the Music Academy in Belgrade in the class of prof. Z. Zdravkovik. He also received his master degree in Belgrade. After that he has been active in the field of conducting, as a full-time conductor of the Macedonian Opera and Macedonian Philharmonic (at a period being also their director) and conductor of several orchestras abroad. He is an author of orchestral, vocal-instrumental, choir and chamber works. He is performed in Macedonia and abroad. He has received numerous awards and recognitions. ZHIVOJIN GLISIC (1954) graduated from the Faculty of Music in Skopje, at the Department of music pedagogy and composition in the class of prof. T. Zografski. At the same institution, he currently works as a professor. His opus consists of vocal-instrumental, chamber, solo, choir, and instrumental jazz works. He has done numerous arrangments in all music genres. He is performed in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, USA and has received numerous awards. He has led composition masterclasses in Saint Petersbourg, Drezden, Nizhni Novgorod. MIROSLAV SPASOV (1965) diplomiral kompozicija, dirigirawe i muzi~ka teorija i pedagogija na Fakultetot za muzi~ka umetnost vo Skopje. Doktoriral kompozicija na Univerzitetot vo Kalgari kade i predaval kompozicija, elekroakusti~na kompozicija. MIROSLAV SPASOV (1965)earned his BMus in Composition, Conducting, and Theory from St.Kiril i Metodij University's Faculty of Music, Skopje, Macedonia between 1984-1992. Gained his Ph.D. in Composition at the University of Calgary where he taught composition, electroacoustic composition, and musicianship during 20022003. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, in the class of prof. Tomislav Zografski. Her education as a composer includes numerous workshops with composers such as Michael Nyman, Louis Andriessen, Ton de Lew, Eric Gaudibert, Nigel Osborne, John Woolrich, Francois Bernard-Mache. Her works have been performed by Macedonian and foreign soloists and ensembles in Macedonia, Austria, Croatia, Srbia and Montenegro, Slovenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Russia, France. She currently works as a professor at the Faculty of Music in Skopje. PANDE SHAHOV (1973) began composing under the guidance of Risto Avramovski, before studying composition with Tomislav Zografski at the Music Academy in Skopje. As a scholar of the British Council, he completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Composition with Julian Anderson at the Royal College of Music in London (2000). In his compositions, which are mainly chamber and orchestral pieces, he explores timbre, modal harmonies and minimalist rhythmic patterns. Recent performances include premieres of Un grand sommeil noir for soprano and ensemble in London and Birmingham, Flute Sextet at the Godalming Festival in Surrey and North Star performed at the Ohrid Summer Festival by the ensemble Lontano. He is currently working on a piano concerto and songs for baritone and orchestra, upon poems by the British poet Richard Meier. He currently lives in Hampshire (England) and teaches composition and analysis at St Vincent College. VAWA NIKOLOVSKI-|UMAR diplomiral dirigirawe kaj prof. F. VANJA NIKOLOVSKI-GJUMAR graduated conducting with prof. F. Muratovski in 1992 and composition with prof. Vlastimir Nikolovski at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, in 1993. In 1995/96 he specialized opera and symphonic conducting at the “N. R. Korsakov” Conservatoire in Saint Petersbourg. He has worked as a conductor at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, and has cooperated with Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and all important ensembles in Macedonia. At the moment he teaches at the Yamaha Music School in Chadler, Arizona. His creative opus consists of chamber and symphonic music. MIHAILO TRANDAFILOVSKI (1974) studied under scholarships at Michigan State University, USA (BMus) and the Royal College of Music (RCM), London, UK (MMus & DMus). Among prizes/awards are the United Music Publishers Prize for composition at the RCM (2001), a British Government Chevening scholarship (2002) and the Pande Peshev award (2006) for best new piece at the festival Days of Macedonian Music. His music has been promoted by RCM’s Composers futures scheme and the Society for the Promotion of New Music (SPNM), and performed in the UK, Macedonia, America and Japan. He taught at the RCM until 2007, and is currently teaching privately in London. As a violinist, Mihailo has performed throughout Europe and America, and is especially active in the performance of contemporary music; he joined the Kreutzer Quartet in 2006, with whom he has recorded for Naxos and Toccata Classics. VLADIMIR NIKOLOV was born and raised in Skopje, Macedonia (1979). He started music at the age of 14, beginning with the guitar. Soon after, he enrolled in classical guitar studies with Vera Ogrizović, graduating with an original composition. Meanwhile, he began cross-over composing and arranging, mentored by Ilija Pejovski. After departing for the Netherlands in the autumn of 2002, he started jazz composition and arranging studies with Jurre Haanstra, at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, graduating 2005 with a Big Band performance of his original works. As a composer/arranger and band leader, Vladimir worked with many different orchestras and ensembles, including the Metropole Orkest, Magogo Kamerorkest, Pophorn Big Band, Belgrade Philharmonic, Orchestra Jazz della Sardegna, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and many others. Among the collaborative artists, he worked with: John Clayton, Randy Brecker, Conrad Herwig, Gino Vannelli, Sertab Erener, Slobodan Trkulja, to name but a few. He won several international prizes, including two first prizes for original compositions and four hommages to jazz composers.

ALEKSANDAR PEJOVSKI (1979) graduated theory at Faculty of Music Arts 2004. Harmonic basics of jazz and arranging studied with Ilija Pejovski, composition lessons with prof. Tomislav Zogravski. His work includes: Cello concerto, three pieces for symphonic orchestra, one for large wind orchestra and ten original compositions and arrangements for Big Band orchestra as well. His chamber music work includes: string quartet, trombone quartet, duets for violoncello and piano. Most of his works heve been performed in Italy, Croatia, USA, Japan. In 2004 he won the first prize for the original composition “People” in Barga - Italy. In 2005 he promoted his first album in MC Gallery, New York. In 2006 his composition “Haicube 575” was selected in the final 7 of 86 participants, at the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra Inernational composition competition, Japan. ANA PANDEVSKA (1985) e student na ~etvrta godina na Fakultetot za Muzi~ka Umet­nost vo Skopje na oddelot po kompozicija kaj von. prof. m-r Jana Andreevska. U~es­tvuvala na letni kampovi po kompozicija,na perfomans na Bienaleto za mla­di vo 2009. Kako i vo sozdavaweto na muzikata za filmot „Prevrteno“ i isto ta­ka i za pretstavata „Drakula“ na re`iserot Srxan Janakievi]. Dobitnik e na na­ gra­di po pijano na dr`avni natprevari. Izveduvana e vo SAD, Srbija, Slovenija i Makedonija. ZA AVTORITE

ANA PANDEVSKA (1985) studies composition at the Faculty of music arts in Skopje, with prof. Jana Andreevska. She collaborated in making the music for the soundtrack “Prevrteno” and the theatre show “Dracula”. Her works have been performed in the USA, Serbia, Slovenia and Macedonia. BOJANA PETROVI} (1985) student na petta godina na Fakultetot za Muzi~ka Umet­ nost vo Skopje na oddelot po kompozicija vo klsata prof. d-r Tome Man~ev. Vo mo­ mentot raboti na svojata diplomska rabota. Ima u~estvuvano na seminari kaj prof. Goce Kolarovski, muzi~ki rabotilnici kaj Najxel Klark i Piter {epard. Avtor e na solisti~ki i kamerni dela. Goce Ko­­larovski, Nigel Clark, Peter Shepard. She has written works for solo instruments and chamber ensembles. Her works have been performed in Macedonia and abroad.

Od nejzinoto tvore[tvo izvedeni se dela vo Makedonija i stranstvo ( Anglija, Germanija, Turcija, Srbija, Bosna, Hrvatska ) vo sklop na eminentinite muzi~ki manifestacii: DMM, Esenski Muzi~ki Sve~enosti, Skopsko leto, Bitolsko leto, TEHO, Saraevska zima, kako i na mnogu drugi kamerni i solisti~ki koncerti vo sklop na koncertnata aktivnost na FMU.

The Composers Association of Macedonia – SOKOM is founded in 1947 as a non governmental and non profitable organization consisted of composers and musicologist. The main activities of SOKOM are: Publishing – until now SOKOM has published more than 100 records, CDs, audio and video tapes with works by Macedonian composers. There are also more than 1000 titles published: musical literature, scores, professinal and educational books, by Macedonian composers and musicologists. Concert activities – SOKOM is specialized concert agency, organizing concerts of classical and modern music. SOKOM is also one of the biggest promoters of Macedonian music culture in Macedonia and abroad. Festivals – Manifestations – SOKOM is the organizer of the annual international festival “Days of Macedonian Music”, held each March in Skopje. In seven days the festival presents many new works from Macedonian composers and composers from other countres. SOKOM is also organizer of the Music manifestation “Struga Music Autumn” wich is held in Struga in Setember. The manifestaion, mostly concentrated on music science, is consisted from scholarly conference and concerts of traditional spiritual and folk music. International activities – SOKOM communicates and cooperates with many foreign organizations. SOKOM is member of the ECF – European Composers Forum, ECPNM – Europian Conference of Promoters of New Music, and several other Balkan and European organizations and associations.
