Compass connection

Life @ Compass We have completed two months on Bear Lake. Tons of guests and seven new members. This Sunday we will baptize in our own building, another Compass First. Our Super Deacons have taken charge of the Lord's Supper and Baptism preparation. They are becoming true servants of the church. Worship Celebrations are becoming more intensely spiritual each week. Our Worship Team is taking us to the throne of God and we are beholding His glory. Surely His presence is in this place. Each person brings a part of God's spirit with them to add to our worship. Use the drive time to church to prepare your hearts for God. I ask Him to make me more usable each week. During August we will celebrate the children God has given us. They are not only the future of the church, they are the present of our church. We send our finest people to work with our children. And in September, we will ask even more of you to be teachers in our new Small Group Bible Study time on Sundays at 9:15. Bible Study for everyone is our goal.....

Mission Statement “Connecting you to an authentic relationship with Christ, self, and others.”

It's time for everyone to be involved. We need folks to teach children. More singers and musicians. Folks to contact our guests. Even more platform people on Sundays. When God lays it on your heart to be involved, call me. I will find you a place that fits your spiritual gifts and your calling. God calls each Christian to a ministry. Find out what it is and get involved. I truly can't wait till Sunday. Pastor Harry

YC3 is still in high gear and enjoying the last month of summer! Last month we headed to LI'l 500 in Orlando for some go-kart action, and had a blast! This month we're gearing up for the start of school, and more fun stuff!

We still meet Tuesdays at the church at 6:30 p.m. for pizza, drinks and Bible Study, so come join us! We have started a Box o' Questions for all our youth to put in questions about life, God, or anything you've got on your mind. Every Tuesday we pick a question and discuss it--- we've had some great conversations going so far and we'll keep that going! We're also gearing up for our "To Save a Life" extravaganza-- a time of focusing on how we make a difference in the lives of others, based on the recent movie we went to see. Look for more news and events coming soon!

Small Group Bible Study You had the vision. We created the plan. Now, together, we can make it happen. Our goal is to create fun interactive environments for every age group, where they can feel welcomed, heard, and inspired to really get to know our Lord. To facilitate this dream with our current congregation, we require six classes that vary from infant to adult. Starting on September 12th and running through December, we have allocated space for these groups throughout the building from 9:15 - 10:00. The only thing missing is you! We need excited motivated individuals to use the provided curriculum and take it to the next level every week. We want people who want to make a difference in someone’s life. We even need people to watch babies so that Mom and Dad can focus on the material in front of them.

Compass Community Men’s Breakfast Town Hall Meeting is on Wen. August fourth at 6:30pm. This is where Compass is headed.

Hey men! Have you been looking at those ladies breakfasts and thinking “When’s it my turn? Can’t I get together with the boys and stuff my face in the morning? Don’t guys get hungry, too?” Well, the time has come! The Compass Community Men's Breakfast group will meet Saturday July 10th at 8:00 a.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall. Complete with a Breakfast prepared by the World Famous Georgia Chef Willie Croft. Don't miss this Event of Food and Fellowship. This Monthly Gathering is Scheduled the Second Saturday of each Month and is open to all CCC Men and their Guests.

Second Sunday Sing-a-long and Ice Cream Social Wow, that’s a mouth full. A mouth full of flavor! Every second Sunday of the month we are getting together to sing hymns and eat yummy ice cream. We start at 6:00pm and go till we can’t sing no mo’. That’s when the ice cream comes in handy! BTW, my favorite flavor is strawberry. Just a thought...

New Members and New Baptisms! We have had six new people join the church this month. Justin and Jamie Griffin, Phillip Hortol, Jeffrey Skiles, Sabrina Williams, and Rick Voss. Ricky is the one on stage making the electric guitar create those crazy-wonderful sounds! The first of this month, Compass has the great honor of preforming their first in-house baptisms. Pastor Stoorza is baptizing Ricky Voss, Kim Snyder, and Phillip Hortol. Also, YC3 is producing its first baptism Jeffrey Skiles. Jeffrey will be baptized by the person responsible for leading him to Christ, Rob Beal. This will be Rob’s first baptism.
