Pekin golfers have plenty of choices too, including two Park District courses. The oldest local course, Parkview offers a challenging 18 holes that still remain popular for all skill levels. Lick Creek, which was ranked as one of the top 75 golf courses by Golf Digest magazine, provides a greater challenge. Also open for public play is Sunset Hills Golf Course. The Pekin Country Club provides yet another option for local residents seeking a challenging layout.

For the outdoor enthusiast, Pekin has the good fortune to be located on the banks of the Illinois River, which provides visitors and residents with an opportunity to fish, boat, observe bald eagles or view an egret rookery.
