Serving the Emergency Needs of those without a home with Compassion, Respect, and Resources

www.carlislecares.org

What is Carlisle C.A.R.E.S? A United Way partner agency consisting of 4 programs: …..Emergency shelter for homeless single adults. …..Emergency shelter for homeless families. …..A resource center/day center providing showers, laundry and case management. ….Cyberspace, a computer lab open to the community.

Homelessness is a far greater issue than most people realize.

In the summer of 2004, a group of local congregations and social service providers, led by founder and executive director, Shari Bellish, decided to provide an additional shelter alternative for the winter of 2004-05. From this group of volunteers, Carlisle C.A.R.E.S. (Combined Area Resources for Emergency Shelter) was born.
