erne Bay Lions Club Lions Clubs International Foundation provides immediate relief to people affected by major disasters anywhere in the world funded via local Lions Clubs. Recent disaster areas have benefitted from Paul Disaster Relief Water Filters funded by Lions Clubs. The Paul units filter germs out of water making it fit to drink offering protection against Cholera, Typhoid and other infectious diseases. We collect thousands of used spectacles which are sent to various third world countries for re-use. We raise funds for LIBRA, the Lions International Blood Research Appeal which supports the Haematology Unit at Kings College Hospital where invaluable research and treatments are carried out on Haemophilia, Leukaemia and Sickle Cell Disease.

How do we do it? We raise funds by organising local events such as May Day at the Castle in Whitstable, Christmas Collections, Whitstable Regatta, Theatre Performances, Fashion Shows, Coach Trips, Quiz Nights, Car Boot Sales and many other events. We hope to see you at Whitstable Regatta on July 12th and 13th and at the Classic Car Show on Sunday August 17th. If you know anyone in need, please get in touch. We cannot always help but will certainly do what we can. David Brown, President, Whitstable and Herne Bay Lions Club
