Three Other B's
Sunday, October 16, 4 p.m., Organ Recital Hall
Everyone is familiar with the “three B's" – composers Bach, Beethoven and Brahms – but there are many great composers whose names begin with "B," and this program includes three of them. The orchestra, directed by Leslie Stewart, performs Benjamin Britten's Simple Symphony; Giovanni Bottesini's Double Bass Concerto No. 2 in B minor, guest conducted by orchestra graduate teaching assistant, Robert Stahley, with outstanding senior music major, Zack Niswender; and Béla Bartok's "Roumanian Folk Dances."
