ELECTRIC LINEWORKER
• Covers all areas of training needed for those who desire to become an apprentice electric lineworker.
• Learn the basic skills in the study of electricity and the fundamentals of electric line work.
• Using full wood-pole fall restraint systems, students learn to climb and work on industry-height wooden poles.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT)
• Develop skills to care for patients in their home, at the scene of an accident and during transport in an ambulance.
• Learn to assess the patient’s condition, manage respiratory and cardiac problems and take care of trauma injuries.
• Must be 18+ to enter this program.
FIRE SCIENCE
• Learn about the organization and function of public and private fire protection services, fire prevention, fire loss analysis and career opportunities in fire services.
• Explore fire behavior and and combustion, as well as building construction for fire protection.
• Two year program prepares students for entry into the CMU Tech Fire Academy.
GERONTOLOGY
• Prepare to work with older adults in a wide variety of settings including senior centers, adult day centers, home care, retirement communities, assisted living and more.
• This program focuses on a multidisciplinary perspective on aging, providing students with a career that has diverse employment opportunities.

HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC)
• Learn entry-level residential skills in heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
• Students will learn the fundamentals of refrigeration, electricity and gas heating.
• Students have the opportunity to obtain OSHA certification and will be prepared to enter the industry as an HVAC apprentice.
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (IT)
• Build a foundation for network support and the ability to troubleshoot and repair different types of technology.
• Build a better understanding of the Internet and its uses in life today, as well as potential for future applications.
• Develop soft skills for working with other people as an information technology (IT) specialist.
LAND SURVEYING
• Learn the fundamental measuring techniques and the associated mathematical principles to measure the earth’s surface.
• Become familiar with computer aided drafting and geographical information systems.
MACHINING TECHNOLOGY
• Broad overview of the manufacturing processes to safely set up and operate automated and non-automated machinery.
• Learn how to apply industrial knowledge and skills work holding, inspection, safety, machining, materials, quality, grinding and assembly to work as a Manual Machinist.
• Manufacture components to blueprint specifications.
• Earn Entry Level Machining Technical Certificate and Manual Machinist upon completion of second year.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
• Learn skills essential to mechanical engineering.
• Become proficient in basic manufacturing methods, computer-aided design (CAD) and basic computer numerical control (CNC).
• Prepare for a job as an engineering technician, responsible for operating, maintaining and troubleshooting machinery.
• Program prepares student with foundational knowledge for the associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
MECHATRONICS
• Learn about the use of automation in factories, industry and everyday life.
• Learn how to build electrical circuits, write programs and design mechanical systems by designing your own automated system.
• Learn about the interface of electronics and mechanical devices.
• Prepare for a job involving the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT
• Prepare to perform routine clinical skills and administrative functions in health care facilities, primarily medical clinics or physician’s offices.
• Learn to provide assistance with physical examinations, diagnostic tests and treatment procedures.
• Earn a technical certificate in two years.
• Become eligible to take the AMT National Certification Exam after program completion.
NURSE AIDE (CNA)/ EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDER (EMR)
• Learn basic personal care skills, care of cognitively impaired clients, infection control and more.
• Gain a professional understanding of healthcare and use of medical terms.
• Obtain CPR certification.
• One semester of CNA and one semester of EMR.
• Earn Nurse Aide Certificate and be prepared for the certification exam allowing employment as a nurse aide in hospitals, skilled care facilities, home health and hospice facilities.
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
• Learn how to process a medication order completely, accurately and efficiently (interpretation, drug product selection, computer warnings, packaging and labeling, filling a prescription in an outpatient setting and preparing IV medication).
• Learn how to perform accurate pharmacy calculations and proficiently apply computer skills, record keeping and billing according to industry regulations.
UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS
• Program prepares students to be a commercial Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) pilot.
• Students develop skills in flight planning, programming, maintaining and piloting small UAS.
WELDING
• Learn proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, OAC, OAW, PAC, blueprint reading, mathematics and safety.
• Gain a clear understanding of how an industrial welding shop is run and how to be employable in the welding industry.
• Earn a Basic Welder Certificate after the second year.
WILDLAND FIRE MANAGEMENT
• Learn from current and retired career firefighters and incident meteorologists.
• Learn to work with wildland fires in rural and urban areas.

EARN COLLEGE CREDITS ON CMU'S MAIN CAMPUS
Students can take Essential Learning courses, also known as general education courses, and college freshman-level courses at the main CMU campus. Popular classes include marketing, mass media, mythology and interpersonal communications. SD51 determines the courses for which they will pay tuition. Talk to your high school counselor for more information.
EARN COLLEGE CREDITS IN YOUR HIGH SCHOOL
Students can take CMU general education courses without leaving their high school, and will receive high school and college credit simultaneously for the course. Each high school offers different courses each semester so talk to your high school counselor to learn more.
