THE SQUARE

Bachelor’s degree, first year D. PUTZ ENSAG, 2012-2013

Creation of an exhibition pavilion, on one level and starting from a 12 square metre base area. Inspired by the therms of Vals of Peter Zumthor, I shapped it by excavating the material.

ARCHITECTURE

THE CUBE

Bachelor’s degree, first year D. PUTZ ENSAG, 2012-2013

The following step was to build a firm of artists. I kept this method of digging the material, this time in a cubic mass (with the same 12 square metre base area).

My will for both exercises was to surprise the visitor in his discovering of the place.

Implementation of an experimental kindergarten on a natural area of 1km² in the riverside of the Congo. Based on a socio-behavioural analysis of children between two and six years-old. After a schematic approach of different themes (physiological, psychological and sociological), we’ve determined the favorable atmospheres for scolar activities, and that for both children and adults. Then we organised them in a global organigram to make architectural strategies emerge. Then, after a deep analysis of the physical characteristics of the place, we capitalised its qualities to establish new strategies (thermical, structural, etc.), in order to give a concrete shape to the project.

WALK IN A HEART OF STONE Master’s degree, second year S. DAVID - G. MARTY ENSAG, 2016-2017

A walk in the heart of the rock to make the soul of the city vibrate Plovdiv, is the second city of Bulgaria, a country of the Balkans. She’s been chosen to become the European Capital of Culture in 2019. She’s a huge treasure trove, full of historical vestiges herited from the 7 civilisations which crossed her 8000 years of existance

continously inhabited. Such as the not maintained romain aqueducs dating from the second century, on the hill of Bunarjik. We use for the project the stone of syenite which constitue the hill, and which served as a base for the construction in situ of the romain aqueducs. Alike Eduardo Chillida, we use the rock as a material that we sculpt, by extracting and incrusting it, but always focusing on its natural layered structure. Following the thread of the water that used to flow along the rock to the aqueducs allows us to dig through the layers, going back to the source. Thus, guided by the water, we retrace the story of the city. This is what makes of this site the major place to explain the evolution of the city. Which is why arises from the center of the hill an Interpretation center, honoring the story of the city, linkng its past to its future. The project spreads out outside in a garden of sculptures composed with the fragments of excrated rock. These sculptures welcome the seasonal exhibitions of One Design Week and One Architecture Week organised for the occasion of Plovdiv 2019. The place becomes then a platform of cultural exchanges. In the continuity of the garden of rocks, a vegetal park extends where artists are convied to compose ephemeral sculptures with vegetal (alike Patrick Dougherty or Dan Graham).

A creative cluster to reinvent the city. In a first place, we’ve identified the city ’s potentials, bringing us in a second place to the site of Plovdiv Central Square, on which has been built the iconic Central Post-office building. Its situation is as complex as is the city.

RC PA

Clean the building.

The Central post-office, Colossus with feet of clay. Plovdiv, is the second city of Bulgaria, a country of the Balkans. Her always inhabited eight thousand years of existence make her be the oldest European city. That’s why she’s been chosen to become the European Capital of Culture in 2019. And that is due to her rich cultural heritage. She’s a palimpsest city, constituted of Permanences (elements that remain stable over ages) above which come to be grafted and telescoped elements in Mutation. Their cohabitation gives rise to tensions. Plovdiv, the two-faceted city is struggling to establish a link with her patrimony that she doesn’t manage to valorise. In addition to this, she can’t either find for herself a contemporary identity.

SCENOGRAPHY

QUAI OUEST

BTS, first year C. VALLIER, S. WAMPACH, B. GRAZIANI Lycée Camille Claudel, Vauréal, 2009-2010 Act 1

Act 2

Scenography based on the theater play Quai Ouest, of Bernard-Marie Koltès, with the assistance of a professional scenographer. We transcribe both space and time descripted in the book, as much as the neither comfortable nor reasuring atmosphere in which evolve the characters. To represent the gloomy and disturbing atmosphere of the shed where a doomed family fights in vain for her survival, we use pierced pannels (like wounds inflicted to already obsolete materials). The layering and movements of the pannels materialise the space, and give it a temporality (they appear, go up, then disappear). The characters interact with the setting by hiding behind the panels or showing up through the open wounds.

HABITER AUTREMENT

MANàA S. PERDRIEL, E. RAGUIDEAU Lycée Camille Claudel, Vauréal, 2008-2009 My firsts researches consist in learning to domesticate the vegetal, the urban. And find what connects them ?

Drawing of a prototype for a future eco-district construction company Our goal: communicating the ver y intimate relation existing between and urban in this type of neighbourhood. One of the three finalists of the contest.

Habitations emerge from the stalk, and they are an integral part of the vegetal. One cannot live without the other, which depend on the first one.

The following step consists in revealing the link between vegetal an urban, through a fusion between both.
