This particular advertisement of Neutrogena® make-up shows an example of line. Not only does the liquid make up create a line, but it just so happens to be a line illustration. The make-up is poured out of the bottle and is smudged as an “S” shape to lead, or direct you to the information about the product and what it’s purpose is, and what it can do for your skin. While using this line, it also gives the product a chance for it to sell itself and let it show you what’s inside the bottle. For example, what it looks like, or how smooth and rich it is. Please describe the effectiveness of the use of line this design. The effectiveness of the line used in this advertisement is extremely important. If there was no line being used, the advertisement would be dull and boring. This one little illustrational line brings so much to offer for the product. Without the line it wouldn’t lead us to the message of what the purpose is, and what it can do for us. Without this direction to the information, it could be missed by the viewers, because it may not catch their eye. Do you think it works well, and why? It works very well, as I said previously, it brings life to the advertisement and directs us to the information. It is also not just a simple black bolded line, it is the make-up itself so it gives texture and color, therefore giving the advertisement more life and more excitement. Who is the primary audience of the advertisement or website? The primary audience is for women seeking out a make up that can enhance their skin. It is a product that can hide your blemishes, but at the same time heal them. The product is killing two birds with one stone. Giving you two things in one. There is nothing more a women wants, then to look flawless, with or without make-up.

It also gives off a feminine look with using the flowers, to better appeal and catch women readers, and maybe show that they are elegant. Do you think it works well, and why? I think the shape with the flowers works very well because it draws attention to female readers, because women love flowers and make up. They want to know that there is a product that will make them look their best and have them feel beautiful. Who is the primary audience of the advertisement or website? The primary audience are women, seeking more ways to look beautiful and enhance their looks.

The advertisement uses texture in the models hair, by showing the healthy and smoothness of her hair. Pantene’s advertisement gives you the appeal that it can transform your hair into hair just like the model in the advertisement. Please describe the effectiveness of the use of texture in this design. I think the effectiveness of this advertisement works well because it is the hair that all women want. All women want voluminous, healthy, and smooth hair. They are willing to find a cure for their damaged hair, and this advertisement gives them hope that Pantene’s shampoo will work for them, just like how it worked for the model.

The primary audience is for both males and females. The company sells so much that it appeals to both sexes.

This web page uses unity because it provides consistency. The text, layout, format set up stays the same throughout the whole web page. Please describe the effectiveness of the use of unity in this design. The effectiveness of unity for this web page is that it makes it very easy to read, follow, and use. There are no confusions of where to find something in particular. I also feel that the creator of the web page kept unity in his layout and made it so plain so that there was more focus on how own work. He didn’t want any distracting background drawing people away from the main point of his work. Who is the primary audience of the advertisement or website? The primary audience is for anyone seeking a graphic designer, and is looking to hire for any work that David Airey can perform. I feel that this ad uses a good example of color because the colors are so bright and exciting. Theyuse the color of the shoes that are similar colors as the sodas, they use them well to match. The effectiveness of the advertisement works with the color through the similarity colors of the shoes related to the colors of the soda. The reason being is because of their quote in the advertisement “Change it up”. They are showing that you don’t just wear the same shoes or outfit everyday, you change it up, so they are suggestion you do that with a beverage. I feel that since they used women’s’ shoes and suggested them to change things up, they may have been trying to appeal their ad to women.

This web page uses value through its eerie feel though color, images, scary music, and flash animation. It creates the mood of Halloween/ fright. Please describe the effectiveness of the use of value in this design. The effectiveness of this website is to have viewers see this web page, and be scared, but also drawn in. Every Halloween people want to do something fun and scary. Spooky World’s website helps give the illusion of terror and makes people want to visit to get a good scare. Who is the primary audience of the advertisement or website? The primary audiences are people who love being scared and love Halloween. In my personal option, I feel that the primary audiences are for younger people. No child or elderly would feel safe if they visited Spooky World.
