Mark Your Calendar:

Secret Worship. Imagine times and place of worship meetings surreptitiously being passed by word of mouth or cryptic signs to avoid detection by the authorities. Imagine your group singing in muffled praise of the living God because you don't want your neighbors to hear you and report you. Imagine in spite of these threats sitting for hours until the wee hours of the morning listening to the Bible taught and explained. Imagine some of your friends or family members being absent from church worship because they have been arrested. What we can only imagine our brothers and sisters live out in reality in persecuted areas of the world. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, China, Iraq, Myanmar, southern Philippines, Indonesia. They live in constant threat of persecution, yet they exercise the freedom that Jesus purchased for them at the cross. This Sunday, November 13, we will participate in the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. You will have a list of people groups and countries where persecution happens and be able to pray for a specific people group or country. We will simulate in our worship service what our persecuted brothers and sisters go through in their worship service. Begin to pray for the persecuted church now. And may our Lord Jesus grip our hearts with the same commitment and passion to worship him and proclaim him with or without persecution. “For we cannot help speaking what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:20 Lakan

OUR AWANA STORE NEEDS YOUR HELP! Throughout the year our AWANA students earn “shares” by finishing sections in their workbooks and memorizing Bible verses. Then, 3-4 times a year (including our Christmas Store the first Wednesday in December) they get to go to the AWANA store to “spend” their shares.

We need items for our AWANA store. They can be new or very gently used. They can be for any age. At the Christmas Store in December the students are encouraged to buy gifts for their family members and friends. Donation boxes are in the foyer and the office hallway. If you have any questions, please contact Vickie LeWallen at 895-0330.

Kids Choir Our Kids’ Choir (for K-5th Grade) meets each Sunday at the church from 6-7:30PM under the leadership of Stacy Stephenson and her team. They are learning “Firm Foundations: Creation to Christ” and beginning work on their Christmas Musical, “The Reluctant Innkeeper”. They will present their musical on Sunday evening, December 11th.

AWANA STORE NEEDS YOUR HELP... Our AWANA clubs need our help collecting new or gently used items for the AWANA store. Several times a year, students are allowed to “buy” items from the store with “shares” they earn by completing sections in their workbooks and memorizing scriptures. The first Wednesday in December, they have their Christmas store and are encouraged to purchase gifts for all their family members and friends. There are collection boxes in the foyer and in the office hallway. If you have any questions, please contact Vickie LeWallen or the church office.

Church Vote... Next Sunday morning, Nov. 13th, we will have a church vote to allow necessary repairs to the “Work in Progress” Classroom off the foyer on the recommendation of the Buildings & Grounds and Finance Teams. The required repairs include support beam, roof, and installation of drop ceiling at $11,200.00. Repairs must be done immediately due to safety issues and the threat of inclement weather that will cause further damage and more expensive repairs. The money for the repairs will come from the donated LaVerne Christian Estate funds.
