Ms. Robbie. Her frame may have been diminished by persistent battles with illness and creeping age, but her spirit remained strong. Her determination suffered some not from the lack of focus and zeal but from the confusion that accompanies those afflicted with Alzheimer. But while she had those moments when she knew she was supposed to know something and did not, she was able to recognize to the very end that which matters the most—her family and her friends. Robbie Haggard, always “Ms. Robbie” to so many us at church, went to be with our Savior Jesus Christ last Wednesday, October 23. It was a bit strange to host her funeral meal in the Fellowship Hall without her busily moving about in the kitchen, making sure everything was done properly. Everything in their right place. The place spic-and-span. Ms. Robbie's last three words, said to her daughter Susan, encapsulated what defined her life the most: “I love you.” She lived and breathed family. Her love for her husband Rudy and their daughters oozed out of her. She and Rudy were so close that it is hard for most of us at church to say one name without saying the other: Rudy and Robbie. Or as I affectionately called them, “Roddy and Ruby.” Her joys and sorrows were so much tied to what was going on in her family. Continued on p.2 Volume 3, Issue 41
