Mission Team to Japan Let us all begin to pray for Justin Kelso and Pam Luce who will be joining a mission team from Temple Bible Church in an evangelistic outreach to Japan starting July 26. We all can be a part of this mission effort by praying for them daily and by supporting them financially. If you want to give to this mission effort, mark your envelope “Japan.” God's Grip On You "When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation." Proverbs 10:25 Faith is not how strong your grip on God is but seeing and realizing through His Word that God is the One who is securely hanging on to you. Jesus said, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one" (John 10:27-30). Continued on page 2

God’s Grip on You (continued from page 1) The Apostle Paul reasoned, "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?... For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:31, 38-39). Jesus promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5), and, "Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). Jesus also tells His followers that His choosing of us did not just happen yesterday. "Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure" (Ephesians 1:4-5). God also told believers, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10). He wants to encourage us with His tenderness, "God tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart" (Isaiah 40:11). These are just a few scriptures that tell who God is and His care for His children. The whole Bible tells us how great and wonderful and majestic our God and King and Father and Savior and Lord is and how He has included us, His followers, in His redemptive plan. Nothing in this world, nothing in this life, can undo who God is and His great love for us. So believers are not defined nor bullied by their circumstances. Believers find their meaning, their purpose, their significance, their joy in Christ, not in their circumstances. So faith is not how strong your grip on God is. Faith is seeing and realizing how strong His grip is on you. "The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). Lakan
