NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Eugene Marshall Jr. of Hackensack has been named athletic director at Iona College. Marshall, who was introduced at an oncampus news conference on Wednesday, comes to Iona from Ramapo College, where he was acting athletic director.

He previously had been athletic director and head women’s basketball coach at the Mahwah school from 1998-2005. In between he was the deputy director of athletics at Army. A past president of the Black Coaches and Administrators Association, Marshall also was the athletic director and women’s basketball coach at the College of Staten Island and served in the same positions at Pratt Institute for 11 years.
