BIO - Colin Perini Last century, Colin graduated as a Mechanical Engineer. Looking back he thinks that it was probably a modern day miracle because he cannot recall ever being that intelligent. He spent his 12 years in the Australian Mining Industry, carrying a clipboard to justify his existence. During his spare time, he consistently practiced drawing and painting, dreaming of the day when he could leave the corporate world and build a life around his creative dreams. Circumstances twisted and turned and eventually, after much practice, he became a full-time portrait artist. His realistic, creative portraits were drawn very quickly and always with an element of fun. He spent 10 years at Dreamworld and one at Sea World. He drew over 75,000 portraits in Australia, England and USA. Seeking renewed creative stimulation, he changed careers after 16 years and became a seascape artist. He has sold over 3000 seascapes and has exhibited in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and New York. His work hangs in private collections in over 26 countries (and at home because his wife steals some of them). Colin is also an active black-belt in Tae Kwon Do and also regularly trains in boxing. He believes that physical fitness is as important as mental fitness. He says that being old is okay but there is no need to be old and stupid. (Secretly he imagines that being fit, stops him being stupid, he is yet to prove that this is true!) He is forever pursuing now avenues of creativity. Colin has been married for lots and lots of years and his wife, Lina is always his inspiration.
