The sentence A sentence is a group of words which make complete sense. Simple present tense Rules: It refers to the action which happens regularly or everyday. Example: I go to school from Monday to Friday. Auxiliary verbs (simple present) Auxiliary verbs are words with no translation into Spanish, and they are used to make questions and negative sentences. In the simple present the auxiliary verbs are: do and does /dʌ s/ They are never used with verb to be. Use of auxiliary verbs in simple present tense (questions) -The auxiliary verbs do and does are used to make questions. -Use do when the subject refers to I, you, they, we -Use does when the subjects refers to he, she or it. -When a question starts with do or does, the answer is always Yes or No. e.g. Do you live in Chile?  Yes, I do / No, I don’t. -When a question starts with a Wh- word (or How), you answer with information e.g Where do you live ?  I live in Chile (information) Important: Auxiliary verbs are not used with verb to be (am, is, are) Auxiliary verbs are not used with modal verbs (can, must …) Vocabulary---- WH questions What: Qué, cuál Where: Dónde When: Cuándo Why: Porqué Who: Quién How: Cómo II- Write the corresponding auxiliary verb ( do-does) in case of a question.
