Gonzalo Flores

To all churches and brethren; The last several months have been challenging ones for Colegio Bíblico. Jorge Mercado, president for 12 years resigned, and in the interim, Gonzalo Flores has been serving in that capacity. During this time, the college, staff and trustees have been fervently seeking God’s direction to provide just the right person for this critical position. That person needs to be deeply committed to sharing the good news with Spanish speaking peoples on both sides of the border and in touch with the changing face of evangelism in both cultures. In the transition, it has become more and more apparent that Gonzalo Flores is indeed that man. Gonzalo began his spiritual journey as a recipient of God’s grace at Niños de México, a long time mission committed to salvaging the lives of children south of the border. He is one of those children. He was educated at Colegio Bíblico and received his degree from the school. He then pursued his education at Cincinnati and Lincoln and received his masters degree stateside. He brings academic excellence and experience as a church planter and pastor. God has truly been working to bring him to this critical juncture, and we are pleased that he has accepted this call and will assume these responsibilities with humility and courage. Our prayer is that in these days of increasing pressure in the Hispanic world, Gonzalo will help us train men and women who tackle this challenge with confidence and courage. We would ask that you would join us in this endeavor. We are most thankful to the men and women who have tirelessly worked at Niños de México, Cincinnati Christian University and Lincoln Christian University to prepare Gonzalo for this next step. God has used each of these to hone his skills and encourage his faith. We eagerly await God’s continued leading. The Trustees of Colegio Biblico
