For this project, the Gerber building, I took an existing building and renovated it to be used as a working studio. I was not allowed to touch the exterior walls except the back wall where an addition was to be added. We also could not get rid of the existing stair, and actually had to add a fire stair and an elevator for accessibility. We also could not add additional floors. There was a specific program given which had to fit into the building which included double height spaces.
